Egg Bistro

My daughter and I had a bit of time to kill before an appointment, so why not try the new place in town we said!

The restaurant itself is very nice and clean. The wait staff are super kind. We were able to walk in and get seated immediately.

I tried the South of the Border skillet. This wasn’t all that bad. I tried the hot sauce tad as on her table but it was awful. Luckily there were more options in the kitchen.

My daughter had pancakes with chocolate and chocolate chips. She enjoyed it as well. Pancakes were all right, nothing special.

The one big drawback about this place is the price tag. The quality of food is very similar to other local restaurants, or not as good as those restaurants, but more expensive. I would like to go back sometime but probably not anytime soon.

Great food great atmosphere and even better service. If you get a chance come give them a try. Super friendly staff and high quality food. The chicken friend steak breakfast was awesome. Their gravy is really something special. Next time I am going to try the biscuits and gravy.

Service was pretty slow when we went for breakfast today (Sunday around 9am) as it seemed as if there were only 2-3 servers for the entire restaurant. Food was good, though. I got the Farmers Omelette, wife had the breakfast burrito, and my child had the cinnamon roll pancakes.

If they could speed up the service, I think they’d be in a really good position. We’ll give them another try down the road.

Great food, friendly staff. Freshly made and quick turnaround of our orders.

The skillets are fantastic and the kids loved the pancakes and waffles. Bonus-you can’t beat a 50 cent cup of coffee with your meal. We will be back!

Amazing! This place is the best. I had an omelette, tres leches pancakes, peach mimosa. The best I’ve ever had in Ankeny and Des Moines by far! The tres leches pancakes I will now pickup if I need something sweet. Soooo good!!!
The service is excellent and so friendly.
