Filet Steakhouse

We went on Friday night for a do over of our anniversary dinner which was the previous Wednesday. We ate at another restaurant and it was terrible. We were sat immediately and our waitress Tyan was amazing. We ordered the onion rings for appetizer. They were superb. I ordered the March special and my husband has the bone in ribeye. We both had the side salads and boursin potatoes. First I will say the salad was plentiful with cheese, tomatoes, croutons and very fresh. When we were served our entrees my mouth hit the floor. Smelled amazing, looked amazing and was the most delicious steak I have had in a very long time. We were again surprised when Tyan brought over an envelope with a Happy Anniversary card. Above and beyond service and we definitely appreciated it after the disappointing dinner a few nights previous. We will definitely be back and spread the word.

Tried out Filet Steakhouse in Ankeny last Friday night. There were five of us so we made reservations for 5:45. This place is the old Fletchers and has been open for about a year. Busy as typical on a Friday night. The filets were on the smaller side as expected for the price but one of the best cuts of meat I’ve had in a while -the steak was medium rare like I ordered it and melted in your mouth. The lobster was cooked well/ not rubbery and the sides were huge (probably because the filet was so small lol) For the sides we tried baked, potato, bacon mac & cheese, asparagus, broccoli, and boursin mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were out of this world! Creamy and flavorful with the Boursin cheese- so good! Clean place friendly service but we spent 2 hours there (way too long) will go back for sure but not on a Friday night.

We enjoyed an amazing evening at Filet last week, he had the wedge salad & lobster/steak special (pics) and I had a French dip sandwich (sorry, no pics). All delicious! We have been a couple of times and it’s been fabulous each time. We’re delighted to have Filet in the neighborhood.

The food was amazing, but there is something better here! My wife and I came here to celebrate our wedding night. Everything was perfect and we were taken care of very well and congratulated by staff and patrons. The biggest reason we will be back is our waitress Megan. She was phenomenal. Kept our drinks full, never missed a beat, and HAND CUT HEART STRAWBERRIES for our dessert. We truly felt like family here and will be returning, not just for the amazing food, but because of our amazing waitress Megan. I am absolutely astonished and grateful.

Where to start!?
We saw a ad for this restaurant on Facebook advertising their August Special which was a 8 oz Sirloin, grilled shrimp, lobster tail, 2 sides & cheesecake for $34.99. We live in the neighbor & decided to give them a try tonight (a Wednesday night). The service was amazing. Everyone from the host to waitress & bartenders were extremely friendly and welcoming. Our server was very attentive, professional, and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious. Their house salad was fresh, house ranch was delicious. The entree was cooked to perfection. The steak, shrimp & lobster all MELT IN YOUR MOUTH delicious. We also got loaded baked potatoes which we couldn’t finish they were FULLY loaded and huge! Everything was exceptional and they’ve gained a new customer! We will definitely be back. Cocktails were strong & yummy as well!
