Hokkaido Ramen House

It was an amazing experience to eat here! The decor was authentic but simplistic. The staff were attentive, friendly, and engaging. I ordered the Tantanmen Ramen and the Eel roll. Both were amazing! The Ramen was cooked perfectly with a mild level of spice that snuck up on me. The roll was prepared with balance and precision. Both of the dishes bursted with flavor and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The atmosphere was laid back and comforting. This is a place I will return to many times! Next time I may try the sake! I would recommend this place to anyone!

I enjoyed eating here. The food was delicious and very flavorful. They had a diverse menu with ramen, appetizers, to sushi. This was definitely a nice treat to have in the Des Moines area. Make sure you come hungry because you will leave full. The serving sizes were that large.

The service wasn't bad and they didn't leave you hanging on your own. The prices seemed reasonable for what you get. I would recommend eating here if you're in the area. The wall art was also pleasant to look. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere.

The only downside I had was that they left the front doors open which brought in a lot of flies. The restaurant was also very hot. I can only imagine how hot it would get in the summer.

Stopped for the night and hadn't eaten all day. Definitely left full and happy.
Cons: miso soup is bland and tasteless. Definitely a place for improvement.
Pros: staff are awesome, available and friendly.

I enjoyed the artwork on the walls. Just an interesting point. Stop in and check it out.

This is a great place we tried it for lunch and it didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious and pretty good portions too. Must try if you are in Ankeny.
The service flow might need some adjustment but overall very good spot.

The look of this restaurant is gorgeous. It is modern and clean. The food and service were AMAZING. We had three employees making sure we were good at all times. Food was flavorful and inexpensive for the portion sizes. Ramen was served in a very large bowl and sushi came with at least 8 pieces in each roll. Definitely recommend supporting this new place when you have the chance!
