My dad and I are currently in the restaurant and I wanted to share my experience. We walked in and weren’t acknowledged for a bit. I get it, we are walking in an hour before you close but if you are walking by, you could say something, even a “hello” would be great.
Once the young lady came to the hostess stand, we were still not acknowledged until she looked up and said, “two?” I said yes and we started following her. She set the menus on the end of a table and walked away without saying anything or even looking at us. My dad and I stood there while she walked away seemingly looking for something (I assumed a rag or something to clean off a table she was wanting to have us sit at). She looked back at us from a far with a blank look on her face. I said, “sit here?” She gave me a look of annoyance and said , “yah”.
Honestly, if it wasn’t for our great server, Brent, this would have been the worst experience I’ve had here. I gave the stars for Brent. That hostess should maybe get some
Feedback on how to work with people.
Food and service here has always been good. I go a couple of times per month as I work nearby. Thursday is the boneless wing special. Get the half order as it is enough for most people. Their rub is a sweet glaze, or get them naked and put on your own sauce. Other sauces available too.
Excellent BBQ place in a nice location. Brisket, ribs and pulled pork were delicious with some good choices of sauce. Sides we had were good and the service was very good. Wide selection of beer and drinks to compliment your meal.
We’re regulars, thanks to my husband, both for dine-in and carryout options. We generally have good, personable wait staff. The food is good but not outstanding. The hubs and son enjoy the bacon wrapped ribs (a Tuesday special) and waffle fries. While the menu highlights three salad options, I wish they had a lighter fare available in different categories. The kitchen is good about switching out chicken for grilled shrimp, cooked to the right temp. The mac and cheese is dense with a heavy floured sauce. My kids suggest to thin it out and reduce sauce.
There are TVs throughout the dining area, the patio has been a relaxing place to enjoy a meal lakeside. Friday nights and weekends can be busy, so plan to wait. Larger groups (8+) should definitely call ahead.
