LJ's Burgers & Ice Cream

LJ’s has the best Shrimp in town! Served hot and fresh! And, the staff has outstanding customer service!! Especially, Anna. She is quick, always has a smile, and goes the extra mile for the customer!

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food was pretty good. Inside was freezing. This place is kinda like a Dairy Queen but local. Their avalanches were tasty. Just like a blizzard. Didn't try to turn it upside down though. I wouldn't try it either. Had their pizza burger which was good. Their french fries are REALLY good which I would go back for. Their bathrooms are outside and they are NOT very clean so I would suggest to go through the drive-thru and eat at home. They should consider the cleanliness of their bathroom for their employee's sake though.

We stopped at LJ's looking for a quick lunch break. We had the pork tenderloin and it was amazing! The staff is friendly and helpful as well. Definitely will stop by again when in Des Moines.

I was out running errands and didn't know what was close to eat and noticed this little burger joint. It looks like it has been there for a while, but have never noticed it before.

I told the cashier that I had never been here and what she recommended. As usual, "everything is good". I ended up getting the mushroom and Swiss burger combo. The fries were nice and fresh and the burger was good. I wouldn't go out of my way to get a burger, but worth it if you want something fast.

The signage really reminded me of another popular ice-cream place that serves burgers, with similar looking frozen treats.
