“This is the first time I've sat down for a meal here. I've been to this La Mie location twice before, but just got pastries to go. The line was kind of confusing on a busy Sunday morning. There were a bunch of people waiting for to-go orders so that made it more difficult to discern where to join the queue. If the line is long then you inevitably land in front of the pastry counter where you can choose your own croissants, tarts, etc. to be wrapped up before you wait in the same line to pay. Or, you can forgo the pastries and just order hot food at the main counter. You can also pick up some take-and-bakes along with other prepared foods. We decided to dine-in so they assigned us a table number. The food came out quickly! My Quiche Florentine was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! My boyfriend got a Southwestern Scramble that he also enjoyed. The coffee is decent here and the traditional pastries are always good. The macarons are hit or miss. But, the rest, is wonderful!”

“Chips and Salsa - chips were great, could've used a little salt. Salsa was SO good. Fresh, with great flavor. Salsa Verde was also delicious and fresh. Avocado Salsa was underwhelming, had a hint of avocado to it. Asada Tacos - delicious. Fresh ingredients and steak cooked perfectly. The shells were a little soft, almost undercooked feeling. Overall, great experience will definitely be back.”

“We had an absolutely phenomenal dinner at Oak Park. Service was perfect; and all the food and cocktails were fantastic. We particularly loved the caviar cones, gnocchi, mushrooms, the filet entree, beet salad, and the duck pasta. I personally really enjoyed the carrot Wellington as well. And we finished with the fancy banana split - very expensive but delicious and has lots of tasty and visually appealing elements. All in all, a very pricey, but fantastic dinner. We will certainly plan to return and try additional items!”

“Unexpected lunch on a Tuesday. BF, 10 year old, and myself. We stopped at 12:30, Not overly busy- we chose to sit outside. There are several options for seating- high tops, booths, patio, bar, etc. Outdoor play area for little kids. A few fire pits. Generous space. Plenty of parking. Nephew had cheeseburger. BF had burger, I had mushroom melt. All good! Fries crispy, salad fresh, soup hot. Our server was great. Attentive without overdoing it. Expensive- everything is these days. $50 for lunch. Then we tipped generously on top. Glad we tried it.”

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant and I must say, the crab ragoons were absolutely to die for! The crispy exterior gave way to a creamy, flavorful filling that left me wanting more with every bite. And don't even get me started on the fried chicken sandwich - it was hands down the best I've ever had. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked to crispy perfection, sandwiched between two fluffy buns with all the fixings. But what really made my experience memorable was the fantastic service from Tony, the bartender. He was incredibly personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. He made great recommendations and really enhanced my dining experience. It's rare to find such outstanding service these days, and it truly made my visit that much more enjoyable. Overall, I can't recommend this restaurant enough. The food is top-notch, the service is exceptional, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I will definitely be returning soon to try more of their delicious offerings.”

“We went for the Snow Globe experience and also my husband's birthday. Had to reserve a month ago but I'm so glad we did. What a magical way to have dinner!! We arrived at 730 for our 8pm reservation (made online) and they sat us 20 minutes earlier! The service was fast and the food was hot + delicious! The cheese curds were delightful, crispy and fluffy inside.. the Nashville hot chicken sandwich was huge and the slaw had a great zip. The Caesar Salad wrap was crisp and fresh. The short rib tacos didn't stand a chance lasting longer than 5 minutes. I loved that fries can be subbed by mashed potatoes, side simple salad or cottage cheese without an increase in price too! The GG seasonal beer is superb and pairs well with dinner. Overall a wonderful, festive experience that brought us in and the food, service and beer will bring us back again! Happy holidays!!”

“We were driving through Des Moines and were searching for a coffee shop - Zanzibar's stood out as a great place to try and we were so glad we stopped here!! Incredible mocha breve and sweet cream coffee - my only regret is that I didn't order multiples!! The flavor of the beans were crafted and curated so well - I wish we lived closer because this place would be a staple for us if we lived in the Des Moines area. Oh, and did I mention the banana bread?? Seriously amazing - some of the best I've ever had - great flavor, wasn't dry, and a substantial sized slice. The place was packed out too, so you knew from the start that it was a great place. The baristas were focused yet friendly and I felt comfortable asking questions if needed. The next time we're in the area, we'll definitely be back and I'll know to double up on my order too!”

“I’ve had this place on my list for a while and finally decided to try it out. This place is in a great location as many places on Ingersoll have terrible parking but as it is just across the street from the office max parking lot there isn’t an issue. I went in around lunch time and the place was really empty as it is mostly a dinner restaurant. I would highly recommend this place to a group or family as this would be a great restaurant to socialize in due to the in table grill and adequate table space. Their bar also seemed very stocked and modern. The food did not come out the fastest roughly 20 minutes but it was exceptional and I loved the pork rolls very flavorful and crunchy. Overall not the greatest place if you are just looking for a quick spot over lunch but seems to be a great pick for a family dinner or after work with some friends.”

“Being a small town girl, and after having just a rough day and after getting lost, but finally making it to the destination to get some Starbucks 😂 they were all so kind. It really made my day. My drink was made perfect and I'm super picky and all my drinks aren't on the the menu so they really have to listen and they did great. My drink was made perfect, the service was great. “You have to try this place! We haven't had a bad experience yet. Have I had to wait for egg rolls, yes. Then they were fresh. Why would I complain about that? This place is a family favorite, and we stop in about every week. We love supporting small businesses, and this place is involved in helping out the community. Just stopped by and had a nice chat with the staff, and they are the best. Kind, courteous, and accommodating. If you have large orders plan (and if large enough possibly pay) ahead of time. They aren't your local buffet, they make things fresh, by hand, with their heart and soul, and not an unlimited inventory. Can't wait to stop in again!”

“This is a beautiful location. Keep in mind it was certainly cold outside but here it was a very tropical temperature. The whole place is a walk through but they have little note by every plant to let you know what kind of plant you are looking at. The main area had live music playing. There's a restaurant but we didn't have time to go in. It's also a venue for weddings apparently. Tickets are reasonably priced however if you live near here, membership makes more sense. This is a place to go and just to be in the moment. It's a must see spot in De Moines.”
