Certainly a place worth visiting, the food is great and well prepared, the rates are reasonable and it is regularly well kept there. Keep it up.

Great service and food. Seafood boil is the name of the game. Definitely worth trying.

Great local place. Get the Trap Star. Seafood by the bag. Dress casual in dark clothes and wear the bib. Casual fun atmosphere relaxing. We went with our adult kids. Eating with your hands feel like you earn what you eat! Order loaves of bread one for each bag at minimum. One bag feeds two hungry people. Beer is cheap. Staff is super friendly and owner comes around to the tables regularly. Our whole family now says this is their favorite place to eat in Des Moines.

Great experience! My husband and I ordered a pound of crab, a pound of shrimp and 4 kielbasa's in the medium spicy sauce in the bag and it was fantastic. We ate it all and I was stuffed! The spice left my lips burning but not uncomfortable. My husband likes spice but felt this was enough for seafood. The service was so very friendly! Free shots were given out! We brought in our own wine and only a small $5 corkage fee was applied. Coming back as soon as we can with a group.

I struggled with rating this restaurant because the seafood was excellent but the service and ambiance fell a little short... thus the 3. We had a party of 5 and 3 of us went in together and ordered the $69 Trap Star which offers an amazing variety of seafood, sausage, potatoes and corn on the cob. BTW... the 3 of us (all women) couldn't finish our bag. I'd give them a 5 on the selection and flavor... but they fell short on the service, we had to go to the kitchen to ask for more water and our waitress promptly filled all of our glasses. Perhaps not the most prompt but definitely friendly and helpful. It's very casual and that's a good thing as your meal will be messy. Don't wear white! I noticed bibs in some of the photos however we were not offered any. I would definitely go back. Highly recommend it for the food and experience. Don't expect to be pampered... just enjoy the food.
