I enjoyed my gizzards, onion strings, and fries. We had to wait quite a while for our food and drinks. I wasn't impressed with the apple sauce. That's a personal preference though.
This is it. There are lots of other famous chicken houses in the area, and I have tried many. This is the one with the best fried chicken. Will always be a stop when I come down.
Traditions of eastern Kansas. No comparison to be made with other chicken dinner places, but it very similar to the original 30 minutes out in the country north of Pittsburg. Unpretentious. Service was prompt, helpful and friendly - thank you Kerri. Chicken dinner for a solo diner is a good price. I did not leave hungry. On traditions, I speak of meals shared with family and friends and the memories made - meaning this is not the best chicken I've ever tasted; that distinction belongs to my dad's Arizona mesquite grilled chicken.
Amazing as always. You can’t beat fried chicken in Southeast Kansas. Wishbone dinner with German potato salad and slaw has got to be one of the best meals ever. And don’t forget the onion rings and white bread. Every time I am in Pittsburg, I stop in for chicken.
