“Good eats & very attentive & friendly bar & wait-staff. Margaritas & the huge carne asada burrito was a winner tonight. The beef fajitas were great, too. Plenty of leftovers for later... now, if only Abilene allowed *to go* cups for the margaritas. Looking forward to our next visit.”

“Abilene Staple. Great spot to meet a local. Good breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mostly home cooking and good prices. I would describe this place as a great Diner. I most recently had the Denver Omelette and it was hot and delicious. Crispy hash browns and white toast.”

“When it was Taco Grande it was good. Now its not so good. I don't mind paying more then I did before but I at least want my moneys worth. I paid $1.99 for a side of rice that was half full at best. When I called to speak to a manager, there was none there. That would explain the long wait time and no cars in the lot. Ill go back to Ponchos in salina. Its both quick and good there.”

“This place had multiple items that would normally cause me to lower the rating, but overall was a five star experience. We had called ahead to make sure they were open, but then arrived at the same time another customer was walking away because all of the doors were locked. Finally realized the open door is on the side away from the Handicapped parking. We entered and were seated by someone who continued to show evidence that she did not know the basics of how the restaurant was to be run, but she was helpful. Just clueless. On Friday night, they offer a prime rib dinner for $25+ or a buffet for $17. We had the buffet, which consists of a salad bar (with spring mix instead of iceberg) and a hot bar totaling 19 items. My hubby enjoyed four of the all-you-can-eat steaks. I tried the fish. We were also offered baked potatoes and dinner rolls, which really helped, since my teeth don't allow me to enjoy the steaks. It's really very economical, if you can enjoy steak. Our waitress did not show up until we were well into our meal, but another server stepped in and did a great job doubling up. Like I said, individually, many of these things would have been 4 stars. But all together, it was a five star dinner, and we would return.”

“Simple little café. The jagerschnitzel was amazing; very good portions. Everything, from what I could tell, was homemade. If the owner, Brigitte, doesn't know you, be ready for alot of direct questions. Very unique atmosphere. 😀”

“Oh my gosh...It's like stepping back to 1958. Old time bowling alley and attached restaurant. Best Cheeseburger and Fries in the world. Also we got some fried livers that were great. Best food ever and great prices. Make sure and get their chocolate malt. Thick and a big straw just like it used to be. Also above the bowling alley is a theater from 1890. A true hidden Gem this place is.”

“Good place to eat! The interior design and music makes you feel like you are in a on-the-border restaurant. with the polite and quick service, it was a pleasant experience. They lost the 5th star because the food wasn’t very authentic like previous reviewers would lead you to believe (looking at you, Beverly). The salsa had a strong flavor of tomato like it should have been on top of spaghetti. And the burrito was stuffed with ground beef, which is a big no no if you were to go to Mexico to eat. Aside from that food still tasted good. But this place is far from authentic.”

“The Burrito Maya is gigantic. Filled with beef, chicken, shrimp, rice, beans, and a red sauce. It's then smothered in white queso. My new favorite thing on the menu. This thing won't disappoint. I have a big appetite but I consider this thing 1.5 meals when paired with Chips and Salsa. The extra hot salsa is actually Hot !”
