Great food and great atmosphere for family Christmas Eve dining. Only negative was I called a few weeks ago to inquire about the menu and specifically asked about Christmas Eve. I was given inaccurate information. We planned to do the two can dine and when we got there were told they were not doing that for Christmas Eve. The bill was actually cheaper by not doing that, but still would have liked accurate information.
First time going there with the family. Had a reservation front desk girls didn’t know where to sit us. They sat us in a uncomfortable spot were all the Leawood echelons were just staining you down.Waited got to our table and took a while for acknowledgement from the waiter. It was busy. So we sat there very hungry just staring at each other but we already knew what we were getting. My daughter kept asking when they were bringing bread and butter? Just a couple minutes before our food was served we received the so much anticipated bread and butter. Bread was pretty hard and kinda cold butter was flavorful. The meat was okay didn’t justify the price. The sides were better than the steaks. Maybe it was just a bad day to go there, but it seems like too much hype for the price for old and outdated restaurant. Overall food was a 4, service was a 3 in our experience. Next time I’ll just get a pack of prime meat from Costco.
Overall the food was as to be expected from a KC steakhouse. All of us except my wife had a cup of clam chowder which was amazing. We shared an out-of-shell oyster which was not very good. The only thing we did not like. My dad and I each had the cowboy steak which was cooked perfectly with the cheesy potato side also good. My wife had the salmon and mixed vegetables with a side of asparagus and my mom had the sea bass with a side of mixed vegetables. The service was a bit slow but mainly because they were short-handed. Our server Kelly was awesome and has been with the company for 26 years. Highly recommend her. Overall I would come back. Next time we come I'll get the meal for two where you can choose a three or 4-course meal. The total bill was only $247
Got reservations for Friday night dinner, but it was fairly calm and still had open tables. We were seated in a side room, a bit quieter and great for spending hours talking over a nice meal. The server was kind, helpful, and patient as we leisurely took our time. Enjoyed the stuffed mushroom appetizer. The Ribeye was cooked as ordered, and the hearty meal was big enough to box leftovers and bag wine, plus order desserts to go. Finished the evening over coffee, never felt rushed even as closing time approached. Overall a really pleasant experience.
Host seated us promptly but put us near the server station, which had a lot of traffic and noise. Not sure why that table was selected when the restaurant was mostly empty except for two other tables.
Service was *very* slow. Our server took several minutes to get our drinks probably because she was too busy chatting loudly with the bartender about her day, as we witnessed from our table.
Food was the only redeeming quality about this place. My apple pecan salad was delicious, but the accompanying steak was oddly served on a skewer on a side plate instead of on top of the salad as shown in the menu pic.
There are many other restaurants in the same price range that have better food and service. Not worth the time here.
