Sushi Gin

I LOVE their lunch special. You get 2 full size rolls from the lunch menu and a half roll of cali or spicy tuna for only $10! Best deal in town. I think they do the same thing for dinner happy hour, but I never eat that early. My only complaint is sometime the service can be slow even when they are not busy. Last time it took over 30 mins to get 2 lunch orders made and they forgot a roll, but that's the only time it has happened. Everything is yummy! It breaks my heart to see so many negative reviews since I haven't experienced what they are talking about, but that doesn't mean it isn't true. If the owner really is that rude and take server tips then that is a shame.

The food was wonderful!!!! Prices were good, service was friendly and very attentive, drinks were reasonable, and we like sitting at the Japanese tables. We had the Bobo Brazil roll, the Alligator roll and the Tempura and Teryaki Beef Combo; all of it was absolutely delicious. :-) My husband was really reluctant to go for "sushi" but this place has convinced him that he was missing out! We will definitely be going here again.

One of my favorite sushi places in the city, but the service just keeps getting worse with every visit. Lunch hours are from 11:30-2:00. You would think you can get in and out on an hour lunch break. We went today, and we were one of 5 tables seated in the whole restaurant. We were a table of 3, and 30 minutes after placing our order we ended up having to ask to take it to go. It took another 15 minutes to get everything settled and out the door. Having worked in food service for over 10 years, it's hard to accept that it takes that long to get good food. Unfortunately, until they hire more servers or figure out how to be able to get people in and out in an hour's time, we will not be returning for lunch.

Been going for years. Service and food is awesome. The new chef is awesome. Pay no attention to the haters.

For the BEST tasting and BEST prices in Sushi you need to go to Sushi Gin Restaurant. Granted, sometimes you may have to wait to be seated or served but in what Good restaurant in Kansas City don't you have to wait? In my opinion Sushi Gin serves the Best Sushi at the Best prices in the Kansas City area. The servers have always been kind and friendly to me and my Friends. When you're kind to people, they're going to be kind to you. I visit Sushi Gin minimally Once a week and some times 2 or 3 times a week because sushi is good for my health. I rate Sushi Gin the #1 Sushi Restaurant in Overland Park and Kansas City Areas, and Yes, I have tried all of the others. For a Good Value and Great Food, dine out at Sushi Gin. Thanks Sushi Gin for the Great food and the kind Service you have always provided me.
