“Just look at all that food! That's a very generous portion of General Tso's Chicken jam packed in that container and it was delicious. Wok fresh and sauced perfectly, the chicken had that nice light crunch from the breading, with a tender meat interior. The garlic, soy and pepper notes were good, but I would have liked a little more heat, more kick from the pepper. The pork fried rice was tasty, seasoned well and included a nice portion of tender, diced, roasted pork. Also including roasted pork, were the egg rolls which were fried to perfection and delivered big time on the crunch factor. And not to be slighted, the Crab Rangoon was excellent, providing that seasoned sweet & savory delight in every bite. As you can see from the pic, a lot of sauce packets were included in the carry-out bag. None were needed.”

“Just a short walk from the Hilton Garden Inn this gem surprised me in a great way. I asked the server what they are know for. Farm to table. The she showed me on the back of the menu the names and locations of where their foods are sourced. All nearby…which is what the name First Mile Kitchen implies. She suggested two dishes. One was the salmon salad and I teased about sourcing salmon locally. The second was the brisket burrito. Locally sourced food tipped my choice-scale and I chose the burrito. I ordered a scone as well. The burrito came with an amazing sauce topped with fried Kale. The kale was crispy and tasty. But the sauce was one of those sauces you could put on cardboard and happily eat. But don’t. More about the sauce. Often times I notice heat can overwhelm a pepper based sauce…but this was all flavor and just a bit of heat. Wow. The burrito was the perfect proportion of brisket, cheese and beans. Then topped off with a perfectly cooked fried egg. I’d order it again in a heartbeat. The scone was good and I would guess had been made with cornmeal. So if you like cornbread, you’d love the scone. It was savory with cheese and jalapeño. Eat here. Support local restaurants and local farmers…and eat amazingly great food while doing it. Win-win-win.”

“First I need to explain I have a 5 year old son that is on the spectrum. Our waitress, Sarah, went above and beyond helping us. Never have I ever had someone so kind and helpful. My son was having a hard time with the live music and wanted to sit at the front by the entrance and watch the water on the floor. Sarah brought my son a cup of cherries and even help us to move out to the patio for my son to be more comfortable. I will specially request her every time we go there.”
