I visited Joe's with my mom and brother during our visit to Missouri. This was a bit of a last-minute decision so we arrived when there was QUITE the line, but we expected this. But, after standing for over two hours, we were definitely starting to question our choices. Luckily, they have a bar inside that you can grab a drink from while you wait, which we definitely did.

After we got to the front to order, those attendants FLY through your order, makes you wonder how there's such a line to begin with. My brother ordered the Hogamaniac (two ribs, sausage and pulled pork with toast and a side- he picked beans), I got the Z-Man (slow-smoked beef brisket, smoked provolone cheese, topped with two crispy onion rings, on a toasted Kaiser roll- GET THIS SANDWICH), and my mom got the Two Meat Dinner (with brisket and turkey and a side of coleslaw). Oh. My. God. Maybe it was because I was in line for two hours, but this was the best meal I've ever had. Please, do me a favor and get the Z-Man sandwich. It's their specialty and oh-so worth it.

I thought about taking away a star because of the wait and the terrible parking situation (there are MAYBE 10 spots to park) but this isn't the restaurant's fault. Keep in mind when they open and try to get there early or really late. But, if you're in the area, you have to go!

There is far better BBQ in the country than this place. Was not bad, but certainly not worth the 30 minute wait in line. Jack Stack and Arthur Bryant's are both superior to this place. Would not even rate this place in the top 10 for BBQ.

Do yourself a favor and check out this place if you're in the area. The location isn't glamorous. But that's how you know it's good! We did curbside with the whole covid situation. I like that they take precautions by only letting one person in the store at a time. I had the z-man sandwich which was jut out of this world. I think it was 8.50 or so. Such amazing food.

My family eats at Joe’s every time we visit Kansas City. The restaurant is an old gas station that offers a relaxed and friendly place to eat great BBQ. Ribs, brisket, pulled pork...all excellent! You will frequently find long lines out the door, but it is well worth the wait! This is our #1 BBQ stop when visiting KC and we will definitely be back! Joe’s has been our 1st stop in Kansas City the past two years when we arrived for the Big XII Basketball Tournament. Got the Z-Man Sandwich and Fries last year and both were great. Went with the Rib & Burnt Ends Plate this year and the Ribs were Fantastic!!! Potato Salad was also Excellent!!

I've been to KC a few times and knew there was good BBQ to be found. After a raging concert, it was the only thing on my mind. I asked a friend who lives there what the best BBQ place was. She immediately sent me here. We got there right after open and you could just smell the delicious food. The staff was very patient with us, as it was our first time. Our food came out within minutes after our order was placed. Everything was hot and delicious. I was a little skeptical about the pricing but I hoped for good food. We weren't disappointed! We took the leftovers home (4 hours away) and at them for dinner. Everything we had reheated so well. I can't wait until I'm back in the area to get more awesome BBQ.
