This place is really good and I hope it continues serving KC as a delicious mexican inspired restaurant. There are a lot of other cities that don't really know what they are missing w/o this kind of place. The closest thing to it that I've tried is the taco guild in Phoenix, AZ. As far as whats good on the menu ... a lot of it's good but I found myself ordering that half chicken thing they do.
Taco Republic is the perfect place for tacos! It has an awesome patio that's perfect when the weather is nice. I went yesterday when it was pretty cold in Kansas City, and I can promise the food is just as good. They have a variety of tacos, plates and salsas. Tons of Mexican beer including Corona and Pacifico on tap. Also excellent margaritas!
Overall the environment is very casual and fun. Great staff who are friendly and helpful.
Ordered pickup today. Food was great! However, you guys need to include salsa, napkins, and utensils? Just a suggestion, had I dined In I would have been provided all of these items. Would have made for a much better dine out experience.
We came for Taco Tuesday, I got one chicken and one beef taco for $2 and one Feliz minus the mushrooms. The Feliz was pretty good. I liked the chicken but the beef was too sweet tasting to me. Beans and rice were average. Also got a house Margarita and it was pretty tasty as well. The chips and salsa were both thick, better with a little of the hot salsa mixed in. My husband ordered the beef tacos and didn't care for them either. My daughter got the Jorge with shrimp and really liked it. Service wasn't bad. By far not my favorite place for tacos but overall it was decent.
What an incredibly fun place! Crazy menu, super friendly friendly staff, great tacos and it’s in a gas station. Well it used to be a gas station, now it’s Taco Republic. Fun atmosphere, crazy colors, and it’s in a gas station! Super fun. During the warmer days you can eat out underneath the awning for the gas pumps used to be.
