Awesome Happy Hour. Thanks Greatly. In This Moment @ The Palace was off the chains! 3 opening acts. I'll definitely stop by again. Great drinks and great service.
We only had drinks here but that was more than enough. We sat at the bar with Anthony as our bartender. He started off describing this incredible house drink; totally sold me! He was able to recommend a drink for any flavor profile. Every question we asked, he had an answer for. Anthony was so friendly and engaging; he encouraged us to tour the marketplace facility and gave us ideas on where to go in the city. What a friendly and refreshing face; I loved this atmosphere.
Nice ambience, low lighting. Came in with colleagues for dinner. Prices were kind of high especially before currency exchange. I had the garlic herb marinated chicken buttermilk battered and fried. Served with dry mashed potatoes and maple syrup roasted kale! Not used to having any sweet with my savory. No gravy or sauce to balance our such a dry sweet entree. The other dishes ordered included gnocchi that were doughy and heavy. My friend was very disappointed by this dish. The roasted veg appetizer and salad entree was well received. Only one of us ordered dessert- a unusual take on strawberry shortcake with 3 tiny cookies, strawberries 2 ways including macerated and freeze dried all garnished with a reduced balsamic vinegar syrup. Not what I would have expected for a dessert. Service was attentive and discreet.
I had dinner with some colleagues at Marketplace and it was a bit confusing entering as the patio was opened but there wasn't a door open to enter the build. We thought it was closed. It wasn't until we realized the patio entrance wasn't the right way to enter.
The inside was that of an old theater according to what was told to us. I ordered the Cider Manhattan and it was smooth and delicious. For dinner, I ordered the salmon and it was perfect in every single way. It was cooked perfectly inside and a bit crunchy on top.
I would return as my colleague who ordered the Filet enjoyed every bit of it and thought it was very tender.
Before Show Dining
We frequent the Palace and are always looking for new restaurants to try and this was no exception; however, I tried to reserve a table in the past and they go quickly so this time when I ordered my Palace tickets I made our dinner reservations at the same time and we were not disappointed. With all the construction there was a parking advisory but since we had a 5:30 dinner reservation we were able to park very close and since the restaurant is mere steps from the Palace we opted for dessert and coffee following our meal which had us at the theater in plenty of time for the 8:00 performance. When I made the reservation I stated that one of the party was vegetarian and our menu selections reflected that request. The vegetarian had a starter of roasted vegetables and a gnocchi main dish which were excellent! The meat lover of the party enjoyed the poached egg salad on smoked salmon starter followed by lamb shank main course. We shared a pear cobbler with coffee. Everything was exceptional, even the coffee. Our server was attentive and the level of conversation was very comfortable. We are already planning our next visit.
