Prepare to have your socks knocked off by this gem! V-Grits is absolutely amazing; I wish I would’ve found it sooner! The atmosphere is inviting and cozy, but the star of the show is the food. This is my second time eating here, and I got the same thing both times because it’s so good! I didn’t manage to get a picture of my food the first time, because I dug in first thing.
This is not your typical crunchy granola vegan joint. I feel like anyone can be pleased here, because the food is just straight up tasty. The mac-n-cheese is the bomb, so creamy and comforting. Better than the vegan mac I can make at home! The Nashville hot fried chicken sandwich is just what you’d expect, and perfectly seasoned.
Next time I’m making sure to order something different, because I’m excited to try more of the menu!
Absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is wonderful, service is excellent, and the food...well, words just can't explain how tasty everything is! I'm honestly mad at myself for not trying this place sooner. Definitely try vgrits, like seriously, quit reading and go treat your taste buds to an awesome, yummy experience! I will definitely return many times, worth every penny!!
FALSE IDOL BREWING. Absolutely amazing. Unique, crisp, and refreshing beers. All kinds available, sours, stouts, IPAs, brown ales, wits, anything you could want. Incredibly friendly and interactive staff. Great space in an old local bar establishment. Not to mention V-Grits food will make you want to become a vegan if you aren't already. Both one of Louisville's best kept secrets.
Great food and great service, I had the black pepper black bean burger, beside I chose was the king with salad. The burger was extremely flavorful, with some type of Nashville sauce on it. The king was salad was good as well. That just happened to be the special for today, there were so many other good options I didn't know where to start. I know I'll be coming to this restaurant a lot.
What a gem to find this brewery and vegan food in Louisville! You simply must try the false idol beer battered fish tacos, the deliciously decadent Mac and cheese platter, and the Mac and cheese balls. Only disappointment was that the grit fritters were not available. Would also love if this place added more brunch items to the weekday menu. Definitely worth the stop on our road trip, though!
