Excellent spaghetti and meat sauce. Terrific lemon marscapone pie for dessert. The Caeser salad and dinner bread is good. Bread rolls are fresh baked and seasoned with garlic and cheese, with dipping sauce on the side. $9-$10 lunch entrees for a main with side salad and bread. Generous portions and excellent service. Beautiful interior, warm, welcoming and casual elegant.

Food was absolutely wonderful! The service and atmosphere was even better! I highly recommend this place not only for a family meal but also for any event you want catered. They go above and beyond with everything.

We chose La Contea on a Friday evening after reading good reviews. Thankfully, I had read that there was no dress code, as we felt out of place when we entered wearing casual clothing and was greeted by the appearance of a finer dining establishment. We arrived around 7:30pm and were seated immediately. Everyone was very friendly, kind, and professional. A pianist played tastefully throughout. Our food was delicious and came in a timely manner. Our waitress was excellent. The atmosphere was pleasant and not too overstimulating.

By far the only exceptional Italian restaurant in the whole Baton Rouge area. The cheese of the world cheese tray was exceptional. The Arincini, mussels and veal picatta and Italian sausage were perfectly done. The sauces were nicely balanced. This place would clearly make it in any major food city in America. Our second time and it was fabulous. We will be back. Bravo!

The Food was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The doggone Potato Soup... who raves about potato soup... try theirs! Every herb &flavor stands out and announces its freshness. The meal continued with Trout Almondine cooked perfectly, I had mine over orzo. Generous portions, friendly service. I totally went back the same day to buy my mother some soup after I kept raving about it.
