“So we ate at Cena's Italian restaurant and the atmosphere and had good food not to mention how friendly the people were. My wife and I loved it. We would definitely go back. Everything was beautiful and the proportions was good. The only downside is the total cost is not possible to do once a week or even once a month for us. This was a special occasion as it was our 20th wedding anniversary and we want to have a nice sit down dinner with a chance to relax and relish the idea of being able to be in romantic setting.”

“Jacmel Inn on a Thursday night in January was a pleasant surprise. The food was excellent. I had Jumbo Shrimp with grits (essentially Shrimp & Grits). The presentation was superb, the smell exquisite, and the tastes matched. The sauce brought it'll together. I had to use some bread to mop it up at the end. The service was exemplary, with young but well trained servers. With at least two fireplaces, the restaurant is cozy, the various rooms sized just right to offer a personal and private experience. Put this place on your list of must visits.”

“We have been here before. However this trip was not so great. My son and I both got a cheeseburger and fries. My wife had a tuna salad and my daughter had a seafood pasta. The burgers were supposed to be medium but they were overcooked and dry. The fries were the best part of this combo. My wife's salad with a tuna steak on it was the winner. The pasta was meh. Service was okay but time to order to food on the table was extremely long, over 45 minutes. Glad I didn't have a major appointment.”

“We love Tommy’s and appreciate them keeping things going during this pandemic. Their pizza is reliable and the sweet sauce is so good! If we dine in I love their beer selection. I am not originally from Hammond but my partners family lives here and we are big fans! One night Tommy’s was down when we called to order because they were prepping all the pizzas for the local hospital and I was so disappointed but loved them supporting the hospital and the hospital supporting local businesses! That is the price you would pay at one of the 15 fast casual burger places that keep popping up. Not sure if you can eat at the restaurant and get that price, but for take away it is excellent. “My family ate here Sunday evening, Aug 9. Their food, as always, was fantastic. I had their Red Fish on the Halfshell. I thought it was the best tasting fish I have ever eaten, and I've been eating at New Orleans area restaurants for over 50 years. However, I was not as comfortable as I could have been. I got the impression that management was not taking Covid protections as serious as they should have. We ate on their outdoor patio, and I suspect Covid seating requirements are different outside than inside. The hostess seated us at a table in line with the only other patio table that had people seated. Later, people were seated at another adjacent table. People were closer than 6ft in both cases. We could have been seated one table over and then all 3 tables would have not been adjacent to others. One Thirteen has a way of giving their customers steak knives that seem very special - they bring a box with knives beautifully displayed to customers and have them pick one. Is this a safe practice during this Covid period? To have strangers reach into a box with other knives, potentially even touching others besides the one they pick? Finally, while all the staff I saw wore masks, at least one person wore theirs improperly with their nose exposed.”

“Just had lunch there today with my son and Aunt. They are taking proper precautions because of COVID, so we were all able to feel comfortable. It was nice to finally get some hibachi, feels like I’ve waited forever because of what’s going on. Our service was nice and fast and our cook was great and entertaining. Overall it was a great experience that was over due. We appreciate y’all being open! But most importantly the food was excellent!!!! Would highly recommend”

“We were an hour away from home and, during this pandemic, we decided to eat our food in the car right in front of the restaurant. The burgers we got were absolutely heavenly but, alas, the sweet french fries were almost cold and the regular french fries were barely warm at best. The 3-star rating would have been a 4-star because the burgers were that good and they did keep their heat but the sweet fries may have been edible had they had plastic utensils or had they cut the burgers in half as instructed. We spent a good 10 minutes and 2 trips back inside the restaurant to finally convince them that we needed utensils to, at least, cut the overflowing burgers.”

From the small mom-and-pop restaurants like the one I just left to the dog groomer that does it out of her home. They are feeding our economy, all workers are essential!! This essential workers/business only terminology needs to get thrown in the F-ing garbage! I placed an order online and started out to pick it up. Being the first time I go here, I used Google maps. 8:28 PM they were making our dinner. I had a minor panic attack because Maps said they closed at 8 pm. (Only due to the Covid BS.) I get here and the door was unlocked and the Amazing woman behind the counter said that she was preparing our food. In all this insanity, she was more than willing to make our order last minute. I highly recommend Pita Pit! Good attitude, amazing food, great hospitality! Y'all definitely need to come to PITA PIT and patronize them they are simply amazing and it's our business to them that will keep this local home grown business open and alive and surviving through all this insanity!!
