Beautiful and creative restaurant with a good foundation on service culture. The only downsides are on front of the house execution and value. Some fantastically creative and well thought out menu items. The kitchen is inspired! The dining space is a little too reliant on booths making larger parties cumbersome. Great date spot though!
This is a busy place and for good reason! The food was delicious and presentations were eye-pleasingly beautiful. The staff I thought was awesome. They ran the place like a well-oiled machine. Had to put my name on a list just to get a seat at the bar but Joe, the guy who took my name was right on top of things gave me an estimated time, and when he realized that he had underestimated how much time it would take, he came to me and told me personally as well as the other people on the list. While myself and other guests stood around waiting to be seated, there was someone on the floor taking our drink orders and bringing us drinks. David was also behind the bar and he was equally as professional, friendly and attentive while doing 40 things at one time. I wont tell you what to get because the menu changes every day from what I'm told, but if you see a tomato tart on the menu get it! I also recommend the lobster and I had grilled green beans. It all was delicious and a great experience!
It's been years we've been waiting for a chance to dine at Fore Street Restaurant. It did not disappoint. It is rustically charming and oddly comfortable. The service was just right -- attentive enough without being overbearing -- and our server was knowledgeable and helpful. The menu is always changing, so our tips may be of only limited help, but here goes: the seafood sampler was exquisite and a great way to start. The pork done over the wood fire was tender, moist and intense. The fish of the day came whole, cooked perfectly and garnished beautifully. Who orders chicken in a restaurant? My daughter did, and we all agreed it was among the best we had ever had (it is cooked on a rotisserie; its skin was golden crisp and the meat was tender, moist and delicious). The sides were as good as the mains. We needed the advice not to fill up on the wonderful bread from the bakery downstairs, but that took a feat of will. Strongly recommended.
Dude, I really like the place. Atmosphere is right out of the book of awesome American restaurants. Food is dynamite. Like, even the broccoli is addictive. Great place all around. Service great too.
