Another great spot if you are in the area to visit. They are kind friendly and outgoing. The food is amazing too. Please try the veggie sandwich or turkey club you will not be sorry you did. It is small but busy and then you can enjoy the food ad much as the view.
Mother's Kitchen is always wonderful. The sandwich combinations are varied and creative, the ingredients are very fresh, and it is hard to choose just one option. They also have a case of delicious baked goods. Don't pass up the carrot cake if they have it. Order at the counter, and they will bring your sandwich to you. Seating is limited to a couple of picnic tables beside their vegetable garden and a few stools inside, but many customers take lunch to go. This popular spot's service can slow down at peak times, and they suggest ordering ahead if you don't want to wait. But it is definitely worth the wait.
This is a wonderful little sandwich shop that we “discovered”. It’s run by vibrant young people who are really friendly. Wonderful choice of fresh and vegetarian food. If you are in The bar harbor area in Maine and you’re looking for vegetarian food, this is the place. They had so many vegetarian choices, they had a jar with all their vegetarian sandwiches names in it so that you could make up your mind. My wife and I picked two separate sandwiches and they were both great
Great tasting food. Kid who hates tomatoes got a BLT and ate every bit, said it was great even tomatoes. Yes there is almost no seating so in inclement weather plan to take out and eat in your car. I will definitely plan on eating there again.
We visited Mother's Kitchen on vacation through coastal Maine on our way into Bar Harbor and then again on our way back out because it was just so good. Super friendly folks, great ingredients, cozy bar, and good iced coffee too.
The Grass Valley sandwich, a standout, is delicious and plant-based - my partner and I tried to make it ourselves this week. Tasty, but not as good as theirs!
