The Whale's Tale & Seafarer's Pub

The food was good. Service was slow, but our waitress was very nice. The thing that really shocked me was when an older man(maybe the owner?) Lit up a cigarette inside the restaurant, by the bar area! The whole place smelled like smoke.

We picked this place because the movie Carousel was filmed there and it has a pretty good nonseafood restaurant. One thing about Boothbay Harbor is that if you are a seafood lover, this is your place. If you are not you might need to work a little harder to find good options.

Anyway it was alright. They weren't very knowledgeable about their beer selection and were out of quite a few things. What we got was good though. Most of us weren't hungry but got the blueberry cobbler which was delicious. My husband was hungrier and got a prime rib sandwich which he declared to be "decent but unremarkable."

They also had a band playing outside. The music was pretty good.

Was it the greatest experience of our lives? No not really. Was it fine? Yes. Also real talk if you don't eat seafood in this town as is my husband's situation, this is basically your best bet. Everywhere else basically has one pity dish but here you have actual options.
