Novio's - Fine Dining in Bangor Maine

Great atmosphere. Prices are high for the menu. No complaint with the food.

Wow! 5 star dining right in the heart of downtown Bangor! I don't know how Novio's escaped my radar for this long, but now that we've discovered this gem, we'll definitely be back! Everything from the seasonal, locally sourced menu (the chef actually tends a greenhouse and a flock of chickens!), to the decor, to the soundtrack softly piped into the dining room, our dinner at Novio's was absolutely enjoyable. The cocktails have clever names to accompany the innovative ingredients, and were expertly prepared. They set the stage for our appetizers - fried goat cheese and tuna bruschetta - which were both amazingly delicious. For dinner I chose the duck gnocchi and my husband had the sea bass. Both portions were very generous, and everything was cooked to perfection. Obviously, we couldn't pass up dessert. The pastry chef outdid himself with the lemon macarons with Maine blueberries and chocolate mousse. The after dinner cocktail with a coffee ice cube was just the proverbial icing on the cake. What a perfect evening. I need to go back to try the pumpkin tortellini and risotto with lobster. But it will have to be soon, as the owner told us the menu changes frequently. The choices weren't vast, but everything sounded delicious and everything we ordered was 100% on point. I absolutely recommend visiting Novio's for that next special occasion ...or just because. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Had a wonderful dinner at Novio's last night. Mary Ellen had the pumpkin tortellini and I had the Novio's burger. Both were fantastic. I know a burger doesn't sound that upscale, but this was perfect. The right burger to bun ratio, topped with bacon (tasted more like pork belly it was quite thick) and had a lovely BBQ sauce. Cheese was spot on. During our dinner, we were talking about going home to make a chocolate lava cake for dessert. I had attempted one a few nights earlier and screwed it up. Well, our waiter overhead our conversation and had the chef whip one up! They brought it out as we were about to get the check, on the house. And it was amazing -- we were floored. Kudos to Novio's for a great meal as well as going WAY above and beyond with their service.

Excellent experience. We live in downtown Bangor and it’s an easy walk to our newest favorite restaurant. My wife had the lobster chowder as an appetizer and lobster risotto for dinner. It was incredible and she said “best meal ever!” I had to special cod dish and it was awesome! We would highly recommend Novio’s !

Atmosphere and fine dining (unpretentious, fresh with excellent service), this place has it all! It is intimate and the cocktails are amazing, but the seafood and desserts are where this place shines. Head chef is also the grower of the restaurant's produce, it is really hard to find another place like this. Run by local owners, this restaurant also offers monthly themed dinners which require advance reservations and feature a set menu including paired wines and cocktails. A+
