This is a great place to bring one friend or many. Tons of board game options - quick and easy ones or ones you could spend an afternoon on. Lots of local beer options but interesting imports as well. Blaze pizza is next door and their food is allowed inside. They also had a calendar of events posted, with trivia added on Thursdays.
Great space, great people with pretty amazing views of the Saco river. Old mill building, restored to be a nice clean, pub with fun, low key socializing and gaming as its main draw (no tvs to distract folks was a welcomed plus!) plenty of brews to chose from. Not allot of food choices (I’m hoping they expand on this) and many games to chose from, bring your own or join in on some fun with others or just hang out! Great place to bring a friend or meet someone you just met.
Awesome place tucked back in the corner! This would be a staple if we were locals…They had an entire wall of games and multiple “dining room” table and chair set-ups. Snacks were a bit pricey. I’m not sure if you can bring your own. They served beers in the proper glasses!!! This is KEY and so enjoyable.
Wonderful space for board games, card games, and other hobbies. Excellent selection of beers both local and imported, with plenty of options for non-alcoholic drinks as well. Friendly and knowledgeable staff that can help you pick the right game or help you learn how to play something new!
For the sake of transparency, I'll admit this review is biased - my partner was the first employee hired. I would absolutely give this place 5 stars even if I didn't know anyone working here, though.
The drink selection is wide and varied with several somethings for every palette, alcoholic or non (and I'm saying this as someone who doesn't like beer). The snacks, provided by local companies, are top notch - my personal favorite is the Plowman's Lunch provided by Nibblesford. The space is open, bright, clean, and well cared for. The board game library is excellent!! It's huge, varied, and has some of the best games historically and recently. Pricing is pretty great, too - renting a game is $10 if you're not a member, which is pretty low in the board game bar industry, and drinks are really reasonably priced.
Derek and Orrin have gone out of their way to make sure this place is open and inviting, and I'm saying this as a femme, queer person in a nerd space. I really, really look forward to seeing this place blossom and fully encourage everyone who likes analog games to give this place at least a couple visits.
Oh, yeah - Orrin, the bartender, is really cute 😉
