I read the reviews and had to try this place! Must say I wasn’t disappointed. I’m a huge crab meat fan and the jumbo crab cakes were so amazing. I loved their milk shakes too. Can be super crowded and might have to wait on weekends to be seated. However overall i love this old fashioned dining experience. The server was friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely recommend to friends and family.
We went because of the reviews. The place is an icon; with that said, I am not sure if I would visit again. Just personal preference of not wanting to eat in a place that is uncomfortably small, the volume of people makes it difficult to order without being rushed. Experiencing a new eatery is more than just the food; this place was sensory overload from the decor, menu selection, to the tight space and employees behind the counter. I would recommend just to be able to say, "oh yeah I went there". By the way, the crab cakes were good.
Chick and Ruth's is an Annapolis staple and a truly old-fashioned diner experience. It is great any time and is a fantastic local hangout. The prices are also pretty reasonable, especially compared to the pricier boutique restaurants all around it - they are always PACKED to the gills but the service never suffers for it. It's a little claustrophobic in there but the experience can't be beat!
My great grandma went here frequently when she was still alive, and I love it just as much as she did. Everything I've ordered is fantastic. And it's a great date spot, especially if you order a 6lb milkshake to share. The lively atmosphere is also great for hanging out with a group friends. It's quality food that doesn't break the bank, I implore anyone reading this to check it out.
Overall very good! We went after lunch rush on a weekday, it's far less busy. Have seen lines out the door all the time. Service was fantastic, fast, friendly and helpful. I had a Ruben wrap in sundried tomato wrap. Overall very good flavor but I may should have opted for the grilled sandwich. Crab cake looked excellent, no filler and all jumbo lump. We also had loaded potatoes, one bacon and cheddar, other broccoli and cheddar. Potatoes were massive! I've definitely had a fluffier potato, these were heavier and wet, but did not lack in toppings at all. Overall very good meals and definitely come in hungry. Only giving three stars because the wrap and potatoes that I tasted were good but I've definitely had better. If I just go with diners over pubs as well, definitely four stars.
