Excellent food, good service. Know before going the dining area is part of the bar area. They do have a dining area upstairs but its only open for overly and busy evenings.
Trolley Stop is a fantastic place for libations or dining in historic Ellicott City, MD, The bar is old school, with a nice mirror so you can keep tabs in how wasted you look as well as keeping an eye out for some nefarious scoundrel creeping up from behind with a six-shooter! The Thursday-only "Meatloaf Special" is to die for.
As if the food & drinks aren't enough of an incentive to visit, there is the lovely Miss Kitty. Indeed, Miss Kitty is known far & wide as a fabulous alchemist of adult libations. But mind your manners because Miss Kitty is the orneriest woman in all these parts & a few others as well. Matt Dillon knows when to let her be, & even the scrappy Honey Badger takes the long way around when Miss Kitty is on a terror!
Biggest breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Packed with bacon. Awesome. Quick and friendly service. Cozy atmosphere. Accommodated our 14mo old with a smile.
I came here with my husband and in-laws for lunch on a Sunday. The atmosphere is very cozy and quaint. The portions were large and the Maryland crab soup was fantastic. My Italian sub was good, although I wasn't a fan of the prosciutto on it. All of the servings were huge and none of us finished our meals. It made for a good dinner, too!
Seems super local, in that it is small and when you walk in the door, everyone sort of looks at you like "who is that?" And then they go back to chatting or drinking. Herbert (I think) our waiter was quiet, but very nice. The food came in good sized portions. The fries were piping hot. Although they were standard frozen crinkle cut. Still good. I would recommend this place to a local looking to find a place where they can come on a regular basis and get to know neighbors. The staff would probably make you feel like you walked into "CHEERS". But it might take a few visits and initiation on your part.
