Quiet excellent. The dipping sauce that the bread was served with was truly amazing, best part of the meal. The arugula salad received rave reviews from all four of us. Nice light dressing with well peppered arugula. Everyone really enjoyed their pastas.
My dad thought the wine was a bit overpriced.
The acoustics are seriously bad, this place is very loud, top 5% loudest restaurants for sure. To the the point that it was hard to hear the waitress from across a 4 seat table and vise versa! And that's as a 31 year old with good hearing. This is a problem prior tenants of this space have had as well but they'd be well suited to consult and architect or other expert.
As is par for the course in 2021 with labor shortages and lack of experience service was a little slow at times. Wait staff were clearly frantic. But the kitchen did not have that problem, the out the salads and entrees out at a perfect speed. As a new restaurant, wait staff had yet to try many dishes and as such couldn't speak to many of them yet.
Can be hard to get a reservation but they had a few open and set tables. I'm not sure if that's lack of wait staff or they're leaving openings for walk-ins.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere!
Chicken Toni and Tina - crab on top
Petro's Veal Involtini (a Wissel family favorite)
Sally's salad
Duck ravioli
Gnocchi with Alfredo and pesto cream sauce
We had a wonderful meal at Sammy’s in Hunt Valley. Kudos to the kitchen. The food is excellent. They have some kinks to iron out. We arrived an hour before our dinner reservation to have a couple drinks and catch up with our friends. There were open seats at the bar, yet we weren’t allowed to sit. Seems they allow people to “reserve” seats at the bar and they’ll allow those seats to sit vacant for quite some time while they turn people away. We found it incredibly strange. We waited for people to leave and then took their seats, but unbeknownst to us, they promised those seats to someone else who had just walked in the door. Wonder why no one offered to find seats for us? It was a very strange and off putting experience. That being said, we’ll give them another try after the dust has settled. We’ve always enjoyed Sammy’s food in Mt Vernon and their food here was also delicious.
