Waffle House

We went to the Waffle House on our way down to Virginia. We don't have them in the Northeast, which is a crying shame. The food is delicious and not very expensive. A great place to go when you have big eaters like we do.

These places usually so consistent but this cook served grits like soup... no one is perfect. He did not screw up the eggs or bacon and manager credited the grits for 2 of us

Our server was great. But the rest of the experience was just okay. We always like the food at waffle House. But half of our food came out and it took so long for the waffles to come out. One of them was 2 crunchy so we had to send it back. By the time we got our waffles the rest of our food was cold. I would go again though.

One of my favorite breakfast joints, this is a ruthlessly efficient breakfast operation. Even on days when they queue up customers, they very rapidly get orders onto the grill and out to customers. On slow times, the staff are usually up for a chat if that's your thing, also during slow times I've seen that the staff are typically willing to attempt creative dishes that aren't on the menu.

When we arrived, a couple left a booth. The person that greeted us said we could sit at the counter/bar. When we said we'll wait for the table to be cleared, she seemed "put out" that she had to clean the table sooner than I guess she wanted. Other than that, the food and service were good. Most times, at a separate location, the floor is slippery as if it's covered in grease. This location was much better.
