I am SO happy they brought a Busboys to Columbia! It's in a great location right across the street from the Color Burst park which is an ice skating rink during the winter and an outdoor concert park during the warm months. The Salmon is perfectly cooked. I saw that on another review and thought, YES, I've ordered this Salmon on Caesar 3 times and every time it was cooked perfectly juicy! The fritters are so yummy and have just a hint of spice to them. The restaurant bookstore has two levels and two bars with huge video screens and comfortable open air seating. It's truly a lovely addition to the Merriwhether District!!

I always Busboys and Poets. This time I had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collard greens. The chicken was great because it wasn't too dry and the skin was combination of crispy and moist. However, there was a string herb flavor that I couldn't put my finger on; it may have been rosemary, but can't say for sure. I would suggest not being so heavy handed on the herbs. I still really enjoyed the meal though. The greens were decent, close to being made at home, but I don't use vinegar in my greens which I could taste in these. The vibe is cool with the open kitchen and gift shop. The Columbia restaurant has a bar upstairs too. I will go back at some point for sure. Great place to meet family and friends.I've been told that the catfish and salmon are delicious.

The atmosphere of Busboys and Poets can’t be beat. The bookstore in the lobby is filled with wonderful material to make any wait time pass quickly. The art work that fills the walls is stunning and thought provoking. The food however is by far the star and absolutely delicious leaving you wanting just one more bite but also perfectly satisfied. This place is perfect for a date night or a quick drink.

We had 7 family members for lunch just before Thanksgiving. Service was good except having to ask a couple of times for silverware. My two grand kids, 9 and 7, of course went for the pancakes. They couldn't have been happier. My wife, daughter and daughter in law were happy with their sandwich choices. My son and I ordered Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. Used to poached eggs on this dish ours were hard boiled. Rather than bring this up we decided to grin and bare it. It was OK for what it was but we did miss the egg yolk saturating the English muffin. Perhaps this is their default for the dish...or, perhaps the chef just didn't pay enough attention to his/her staff. This was our first visit to the restaurant and my wife and I have not written them off...we will be going again. The restaurant is beautiful and convenient for us. My son and his family, now back in Oregon, regard their whole visit as enjoyable.

I was so thrilled when I heard Busboys and Poets would have a location in Columbia, MD. This location is perfect! My daughter and I dined their last evening and once again they did not disappoint. For starter the roasted Brussel sprouts were 🔥🔥 I had the blackened salmon with roasted corn, wild rice and asparagus. The salmon was cooked perfectly; the veggies and rice were seasoned just right. My daughter enjoyed her medium cooked burger with fries as well. Kudos to the bar as she stated her Shirley temple was the best! We ended our meal with the layered chocolate cake and coconut ice cream and both were delicious!! Can't forget the hostess who was professional and pleasant, and our waitress was also friendly and appropriately attentive. Kudos to the servers who brought out our hot food!! My favorite dessert to have their is not on the menu yet and that is the White Chocolate Banana bread pudding which is the best bread pudding to this connoisseur hands down! Can't wait for this to get added to their dessert menu!!
