Cafe Azul - Caracas de Ayer

A superior quality of arepas. No other Venezuelan restaurant compares to the quality and flavor of these arepas. I know because I am from Venezuela and these delicious cakes are a specialty of chef Mickey Torrealba. Hallacas year round. Tequeños con guayaba. Chicha. Pernil arepas. Sorry to say to Arepa Zone and Arepa House. Mickey is the real deal.

It was a cute place. Clean welcoming. The food was a bit bland. It was just okay.

The food is simply delicious, the customer service is very nice making you feel at home, the place is very well decorated in a very nice traditional way, and the prices are fair. The only not so good thing is that it does not have parking, but when I got to the door, I realized that they have a graphic that shows the closest parking spaces, which is very helpful. I highly recommend the "Cachapa" with cheese, since it is made of fresh corn and a spectacular white cheese, I accompanied it with a drink called "Chicha" that you have to try, you will love it!!! If you want to find true Venezuelan traditional food in the College Park area, this is the place. I can not wait to go back and taste others traditional Venezuelan dishes.

1st time trying I can't remember what I ate...it was wrapped in plantain leaves and it was great the bread with ham and olives excellent! The chicken salad excellent!
