Shagga Coffee & Restaurant

This was my first restaurant in Maryland. Also my first time experiencing Ethiopian food. I’ve nothing else to compare this to since it’s my first time, but it definitely sets the bar high for other Ethiopian restaurants. Didn’t try any coffees, but the food and service here is great! Made sure to stop in a couple times a week when I was living down the block for a brief period of time.

First time here. Lovely and warm setting, with colorful artwork. Staff were friendly and helpful with the menu. Enjoyed the $10 salad: njeera, lentils, beets and potatoes and carrots and cabbage.

Friendly service and comfortable atmosphere in this converted fast food restaurant structure. Authentically delicious Ethiopian food with a clientele that is about half Ethiopian and half not. Good place to go for the day tour with friends. Vegetarian and vegan dishes available and also gluten-free injera is available pretty small extra charge. Usually they have honey wine and Ethiopian beer.

I love this place. My favorite Ethiopian food in town. Service is great, they accommodate the spice level to your liking and tolerance level, since I don't do hot. I just tell them, no pepper, no jalapeno. It is perfect, with 2 items 2 people can eat plentiful. Highly recommend it. Don't go too hungry because the is a little of a wait if it is full. Remember, this is not fast food. Hope you enjoy it!

Very good food. Service is nice. Relaxed environment, Yet warm and friendly. My wife and I really enjoy having this option for Dinner. The coffee is authentic.
