“My first time here and I've lived in New Bedford for over 15 years. Karen was so nice. The food was good. I liked their skinny crispy fries and onion rings too. “Food is really good, like homecooking good. The quality of food is more than perfect for the price. I went with my boyfriend and the two of us got a big plate of meat and rice plus a vegetable bowl and paid $14. The environment is open and the staff nice. If anything, I would advise for labels on the food as I had no idea what foods were available on the counter. I know mostly locals visit the restaurant, but considering that it is a business and it needs to have everyone in consideration that is probably the only downfall I found, because I could have ordered something else besides pork, yellow rice and vegetables. Great besides that”

“In my eyes Cafe Mimo is one of the top Portuguese restaurants in the city offering both friendly service and delicious authentic Portuguese food. I've been coming here since I was a kid. Their Steak, Chicken Mozambique and Pork Meat Alentejana are amongst my favorite dishes here and remind me of the home cooked meals you get back in the Azores. It was also nice seeing them featured and recognized as one of the areas top restaurants on Phantom Gourmet. Keep up the great work guys! I can't wait to go back.”

“Great Portuguese restaurant. Good food excellent portions for what I've had. Lunch for 2 Tue-Sat or Dinner for 2 Tue-Thu for $25.95. Choice of about 12 entrees with bottle of wine or pitcher of sangria(red or white). Also lunch for 1 same entrees with glass of beer or wine(soda?). Had junior steak(didn't have egg with it) and was tender and juicy. Very flavorful with garlic and hot red peppers on top. Order steak little less done than what you normally would(ie medium to get medium-well). Shrimp Mozambique with shrimp or over pasta is excellent. Other places with shrimp is a bit watered down but sauce on this one is very flavorful and sticks to the shrimp and pasta(if pasta is drained properly which this one usually is). Worth a try at the price. Cozy place with entertainment on Tuesday(or maybe Wed, I forget) night.”

“I love Charlie’s pizza, they make a great pie. They have been around for a long time and they still update their menu to have a wide variety of different things. I can never find all three things that matter except for here: one the crust is delicious, the sauce is the the right consistency and the cheese is stretchy and chewy. I would have to say it’s the best pizza in the city.”
