Tokyo Japanese Steak House

The hot pot was really good. This place is kind of a novelty thing for my wife and I. We usually only go here if we're going out with a group that has never done hot pot before. Good conversation starter and everyone can normally find something that they would like to put in the hot pot. Menu is very large as well which is a plus.

I always love this place. The food is wonderful and a decent price. Perfect place for my family and I to spend time together or for my boyfriend and I on dinner dates. We pretty much always do hotpot. Recommend the kimchi broth and prime rib!

The chefs are fun to watch with their culinary expertise.

Had dinner with the family today. Had a great meal. The chef whom cooked our meal and put on the show was awesome. He was great with the child that we had with us.

The wait staff on the other hand not so awesome. I had the waitress come back to our table twice requesting more money for a tip. Once when we were paying for the meal and the second time when we gave the tip. I explained that we tips the cook already and gave her a 15% tip of the overall bill which was for her. To her it was not enough. She wanted 18 to 25% . According to her a large portion of the tip that you give goes to the cook.

I've never had a waitress come back to the table not once but twice requesting more money than what the bill cost. I've worked in Food Service before and I've never seen this happen.

So if you ever decide to come here to the Japanese Steakhouse Tokyo make sure you don't tip the cook because they'll waitress staff will harass you for more money for a tip

My suggestion to the manger or owner is notify the customers up front that the tips are pooled for both the cook and wait staff. If we had known this up front I would never had made this post and my rating would have been better.

Hibachi chef was very engaged and entertaining. Food was good and staff was friendly. I would not recommend the frozen mango drink, it was pretty much flavorless. I think it was just some mango juice blended with ice. Salmon was tasty. No complaints on the food, but I got maybe 6pieces of vegetables was was unusual to me. We eat at different hibachi places frequently (more than one) and always get a satisfying amount of veggies, not here.
