I really want to like this place, but after two visits - I can’t. Beers are awesome but the ordering process is strange and impersonal. You also have to go inside to order your beverages. Of course I’m tipping my standard of 20% but for what? Both times food has been just ok - nothing to write home about.
The Bull Spit Brewing Company, serves a variety excellent beer and ale made on site. This pub was once owned by The Hillman from WAFF radio station. They served a variety of pub style food. I had the burger and fries! Yum! The Big Random Band served up some tasty rock tunes to delight a full room of fans.
I stopped in for lunch to check out this new brewery. Both the beer and food were great. Friendly service. I definitely plan on returning to try some of their other beers
Having lived in Maynard for only a year, this seems like just the kind of lifeblood the town needs for people to gather. A great space with a great selection of beers and wine with equally as good food! My wife and I had a great time at their opening night with very welcoming and helpful staff! The industry has suffered lately but all staff went out of the way to make sure everyone enjoyed. Also happy to see that kids are welcome and enjoying the live music! I’m am so thrilled there is a place like this just a minute away! I became a mug club member after the very first beer, cannot wait to go back for repeated visits and hopefully get to know some other locals! Highly recommend!
My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Bull Spit on their opening night in Maynard. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of beer types they had, especially for a smaller scale operation (brown ale, stout, sours, cider, IPA, pale ale, etc.). Lots of wine options as well from their winery Hillside Cellars. The bartenders were attentive and friendly, and were happy to answer any questions.
There are lots of tables and a long bar inside of an old mill providing a cool atmosphere with plenty of places to sit. There is a shuffleboard table and a small stage for live music.
We will definitely be back!
