LaMei Hot Pot

I love the food it was a 5 the place was very clean. But they get a 1 for service me and my son were the only 2 in the place and yet we had to signal them to the front for the check. No one checked on us I could hear them talking but I wasn't even offered more water. The prices of this hot pot place is something I have never seen. It was 16 dollars for the cheapest broth. you have to buy everything separate. I'm used to everything combined for one price. Maybe I'm spoiled maybe I'm just used to a bargain but I may give this place a try one day. I think I want to see what expensive hot pot taste like. But for now I will stick to Chinatown and their 3.50 broth prices.

Didnt do hot pot this night but ordered from the regular menu-Ordered cumin lamb sticks, spicy chicken, chili crispy shrimp and some eggplant dish which were all delicious! Service was good and prompt. Next time will try the hot pot.

Excellent. I've been here 3 times and love this place. Friendly staff, everything is fresh, and the food is great. The hot pot is really hot and spicy. Highly recommend if you're into spicy.

Had a solo dinner recently at LaMei's location in Brookline. Selection was very decent. I got the high quality beef and the mini half & half (beef bone and vegetable spicy oil?) which were pretty tasteful. I would come back here. Only downside is the bar where I sat is right near the doors so whenever someone opens the door, I can feel the draft of cold air.

Super happy that Lamei Hotpot finally opened in MA. Same excellent quality as the Lamei in RI. Best Hotpot in Boston without any doubts. Food's unique home made feeling barely can be found any where else. Did not feel thirsty at all after the meal, which implies there were no MSG or other chemicals. Wild Mushroom Broth and Tomato Broth have a lot of contents in the soup. It is so delicious that you don't need any additional sauces to the cooked foods from the broths. The spicy broth is awesome too, smells very tasty. Must try the duck blood, handmade fish paste, hand-pulled noodle. As a native Chinese, I love it so much, so do my other American born friends. Fresh, Yummy, healthy food in a friendly and modern environment. I am really really happy that such authentic restaurant beyond compare opened in my neighborhood. Easy parking around and 2 minutes walk from green line Coolidge Corner station. They also have a wide selection of beer and wine.
