I had the 3-piece whitefish dinner thinking that I never get enough fish...silly me! 3, large pieces of VERY tasty whitefish, well prepared and great fries. I took one piece home. My wife enjoyed her omelet but was a bit envious! Friendly and efficient server and overall, very good experience!

We had dinner here on Friday and liked it enough to come back for breakfast on Saturday. Both meals were tasty and fresh (buffalo wings/French dip for dinner, pancakes with meat/potatoes for breakfast), and the service was good with reasonable prices for the amount of food. We did wait about 30-40 minutes after ordering our breakfasts due to the staff shortages affecting everybody.

Visiting from Ohio and camping at Brimley State Park. Very nice local restraint got the Whitefish sandwich with sweet potato fries along with a shrimp basket. Very good food and excellent service.

This place has pretty good food and friendly servive, that's why it gets 4 stars. The hours just changed for the spring season and they are open for dinner on the weekends ( definitely check their hours). During the winter they were open for breakfast and lunch. They have good pancakes and the pierogies Breakfast skillet is really good. The U.P. Cranberry salad and the pulled pork sandwich are also pretty tasty. Smelt was a special on the menu and my husband enjoyed it.
There is a central fireplace that keeps things comfy in the winter and I believe there are few tables outside by the river for warmer weather dinning. There is a bar in a separate area with seating. The service is friendly but I do believe each meal is made to order. With that said, when it's busy you may have to wait just a little longer than normal.
I may have marked it lower because of the occasional wait and the fact that there aren't a whole lot of "dinner" style meals on the menu. But in this area, I believe it can be very hard to judge the flow of customers and and I think I'd prefer my food prepared for me when I get there instead of a few days prior. I have been satisfied with my appetizers and meals each time...so 4 stars it is.
