This place is a well known landmark for Escanaba Michigan.
Okay, let me first say that if you are looking for a “typical” hotel/restaurant, this is not it. It feels a little like a B&B, but it’s not. It’s a little odd and quirky. People are super friendly , the fish fry excellent (wish they served potato pancakes like in wisconsin), and the rooms quaint (but odd).
The rooms are interesting furnished, worn, but clean. The bed had an excellent mattress and I slept like a baby.
If you are looking for different, but nice, check it out.
Perfect atmosphere for dinner! And Jerry was a gracious host. Great food too - would recommend!
We are having a gathering at the house of ludington and they are great to work with.
Showed up to Escanaba with no reservations or plans. It was a spontaneous road trip from Green Bay. We drove past a few hotels. As soon as we saw this place we knew it was it! We walked up and the doors were locked, but the woman (Suzelle?) was sitting in the courtyard and told us she had one room left, water front views, and would assure us she would reserve it for us when they opened. Ed checked us in and gave us a few ideas of things we could do in the area. Our room was so homey! Not like any regular hotel I’ve stayed at. We decided to have a few drinks. Ed was very personable, fun to talk to and hang out with. We ordered the blackened salmon and ribs for dinner. The salmon was amazing! The ribs we weren’t big fans of. The views and hotel itself were stunning. We plan on going back to Escanaba just to stay here!
