Chili not so good, very ketchupy... ribs were good, but the burgers were simply amazing.. Good beer selection as well. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
We went on a Saturday for dinner it was busy but we were sat right away. We sat for 5 minutes before the host asked it we had seen our waitress. We saw her 4 times total we had to get the hostess to get beer refills and my water was never refilled. The Mac n cheeses was excellent. I got the Caesar salad with the smoked chicken, the chicken was grizzly and I had to pick through it. My husband got the smoking J and loved it. It was plenty of food the money.
Get ready to Wait and Wait. This establishment does not take reservations. Our party of 8 drove almost 45 minutes before waiting that much time again before being served. The waiter did apologize for forgetting us sitting there. What? How does staff not see a party of 8? We had the burnt ends as appetizer. We all agreed they were delish. They have lots of locally made beer choices. I tried one of their 2 wine choices. The red was exactly as our waiter described. Green beans were a welcomed change, sweet potato mash was excellent. I had the Salmon. Others choice ribs, pulled pork and the large mixed meat platter. Which is excellent to share between two. No one walks away hungry here. Never got to desserts. Staff was friendly enough.ii
I had chicken corn chowder and onion rings which were excellent and all our entrees were great. Burnt ends could have been burnt more. Lava cake was more like an extinct, dormant volcano. Center cold, solid. Service friendly but just okay. Nice decor architecture fitting with industrial local
This relatively new spot was a pleasant surprise! We visited for a college graduation dinner and found an authentic smokehouse menu with a selection that delighted all us meat eaters! The vegetable sides were excellent as well - especially the whole, fresh green beans heated in a pan with light oil and sea salt. Delicious. Don't miss the 'burnt ends" - not at all burned, they're tender and flavorful.
