“It's right downtown Jackson, and I never knew it was here! When you walk in, it is clear, that it is set up much like a deli. You are served quickly, so it is a great option for lunch, and probably even smarter to take some home for dinner. They have everything that you could want, sandwiches, paninis, salads, stuffed baked potatoes, and so many sides to choose from, like coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, and corn bread. Even the pickles are great! The pulled pork, corned beef and pastrami were excellent, actually the best we have ever had!. So was the mac and cheese! The portions are giant sized. You will not go home hungry! Everyone that ate lunch seemed to clean their plates, there was not a complaint by anyone! Instead of driving to Ann Arbor, you have got to get in here, and give it a try. They have limited hours, so you really have to make an effort to get in. Monday thru Thursday 11am to 3pm Friday 11 to 8. I recommend that you come as early as you can before they run out of anything!”

“Food was good; better than Taco Bell, average for a sit down authentic Mexican restaurant. Staff was small but very friendly. But the kitchen was having some issues while we were there. Tortilla press was broken, some pesky flies, food not covered in between uses. I'm a brave eater with a strong stomach, I'll give them a try again sometime. But if you have a weak stomach and are susceptible to food illnesses, you might want to wait until they clean up their kitchen.”

“The food and service were great!! This was my first visit. Went on an early Saturday evening for dinner and it wasn't busy at all. I'm not a sports fan but the TVs didn't bother me (when at other places the noise does bother me). The deep fried pickles were great and they have the GOOD kind of RANCH!!! Yum! The prices were great for the amount of food you get – we ended up taking some home. Lastly, and most importantly, our waitress, Kelly, was wonderful. She checked on us many times and always had a refill of drinks ready before we needed them. She knew we'd need a stack of napkins when she brought the food. That's a great waitress, who knows customers need extra napkins – the one around the silverware is never enough. Why doesn't every waitress know that? Kelly did!! I would have given them 5 stars but the bathroom was not as clean (kind of gross) as I would expect it to be when the place was quite empty.”

“This place is a hundred years old. The servers were awesome. The rice pudding homemade and great-tasting with cinnamon. The hot dogs were all varied with different types of items on them. The original was really yummy and traditional. I tried the Kraut dog and love the way they even grilled the Kraut. The onion rings were dipped with some cornbread and they were real onions inside. The fries are extra crispy. The iced tea was awesome no sugar and you could even ask for lemon. Bathroom was clean love the building. Nice atmosphere for a cheapie.”

“When I lived in Jackson many years ago, I ate here a lot. That was back when the owners worked their counter and food was wonderful. I stopped at a recent visit to rekindle some delicious memories. I should have let my memories be just that, was disappointed in flavor and the woman at the E Michigan location wasn't very friendly. I was told later to go to the Ganson location which I might try next time I visit.”
