Friendly service, fantastic view, and incredibly delicious food. Betsy, our server was super friendly and efficient. The walleye special was so tasty and the crab stuffed risotto balls were truly exquisite. Definitely will return soon.
The view and landscaping are the best things about this restaurant. The service was ok. We stopped in to check it out the menu and had drinks and appetizers midday. The whitefish appetizer was absolutely was way too salty.
Edit: A response from the restaurant indicated that they use no salt in that appetizer. Based on that fact and the fact it was over salty, there may have been an oops in the kitchen. All four of us and some who are definitely salt lovers could not take the level of it. It may have been an anomaly. Someone didn't taste their work. Oversalted at the smoking step? Oops happen.
We all had a wonderful meal. It's a higher end restaurant. The presentation, food and prices reflect that. You will get what you pay for. Gourmet food!
We had the risotto crab cakes that were incredible! Entrées were Whitefish wrapped bacon which was dry. The plank salmon trout was also amazing. Our waitress was excellent!
Harbor Haus was a wonderful experience. The outside was unassuming, but the interior was charming and comfortable. Our waitress was fantastic and the service was great.
Despite being very pricey for the area, I would definitely come back because the food was divine. I had the rack of lamb with a wild mushroom risotto that was absolutely delicious.
The restaurant overlooks Lake Superior for a rather gorgeous view. And if you time it right you get to see the Isle Royale ferry arrive and the wait staff do a little dance outside to celebrate it's return.
I would definitely recommend Harbor Haus to those who want a charmingly romantic evening with their loved ones.
