Great hotel and excellent staff! Love the pool patio after a long day on the island. Plus, you won't find better fudge or better donuts anywhere else - on the island or off! Worth an overnight or just stop by for the food.
A great place! I really enjoyed my stay there. The staff was friendly, the rooms quiet, and the beds comfortable. It is also conveniently located in town so it puts you within easy access of restaurants and stores.
My wife and I have stayed at the Murray several times since 2004. It is a very nice and clean hotel. The rooms are small, but if you come to Mackinac Island to sit around in your hotel room than your missing the point. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly. Very conveniently located across from the ferry doc. Their fudge is great. The breakfast and pizza buffet fall a little short, but again, not the reason for being on the island anyway. The spa pool is awesome. It is s nice surprise in a victorian era hotel. The rates are very reasonable for the island. They have some great package rates that include ferry tickets, fudge and other discounts. I would recommend this place to anyone. If you think you can’t afford to stay on the island, check out the Murray Hotel.
My experience with this hotel was amazing. It’s in a great location right in front of the dock when you get off the star line ferry. The rooms have a nice antique charm to them. They housekeepers leave cookies in the rooms. Everyone I interacted with was so nice. There’s a Mexican restaurant downstairs which always smells amazing. The man who brought over our luggage from the ferry to our room was so nice. We only stayed one night and then we were staying in the city after that but we didn’t want to take the ferry multiple times to deal with our luggage so they have a luggage room to put your stuff in while you explore the island. Oh and they had fresh lemon water out all day long. And super affordable for all the amenities your getting, would definitely stay again!
The service here was great and the location really couldn't be beat - it's basically next door to the star line dock so you don't have very far to go once you get to the island. Everyone we encountered working at the Murray Hotel was excellent. The hotel itself is a little odd - it has a burrito counter basically in the lobby (which seemed rather out of place) and a fudge shop right at the entry, so the atmosphere wasn't quite what I expected. Our room was also VERY tiny & hadn't been updated in a while. But the Murray is one of the most affordable hotels on the island and it just encourages you to get out and about on the island. Overall, my experience was a positive one and I'd probably stay here again.
