“04 July 2020: Got a flight of the 4 beers they brew themselves (their taps are filled out with other Michigan favorites) and they were all pretty darn good. Food was excellent. Had to wait a while for a table but what else would you expect for dinner time on Independence Day? The only reason I didn't check out the swag shop was we had to run to catch our ferry back to St. Ignace. So I bought a shirt from their online shop. I'll be back next time we go out to the island!!!”

“We have been here many times. Mainly have had frozen drinks and soft serve. When asked about ingredients the have a book to show and also will show the package if needed. That may not be important to all but for my family it is very important. I have never had a problem with prices they seem fair enough and to a little extra in the college fund tip jar because they are nice people. Great place to get something to eat or drink and look at the water.”

“An easily overlooked BBQ restaurant tucked just off of Main Street on Mackinac Island, but if you do you will be regret it. Delicious food and a welcome respite to the fudge, candy spots and normal over priced food fare. From delicious original appetizers like homemade potato chips with blue cheese dip, to more traditional BBQ staples such as pulled pork and brisket. Along with a well stocked bar full of local beers and wine, it’s definitely worth seeking out the next time you are on the island.”

“I’ve been coming to Mackinac for years but hadn’t made it out to The Woods. It truly was a special dinner in a beautiful house. The food was fantastic (got the whitefish) and service absolutely excellent. All things considered, the price wasn’t not too bad either. Lastly, while the website says to order a taxi, there is a shuttle available from downtown. We ended up walking home as well which wasn’t too bad of a hike.”

“Our server was friendly and the food was decent. I was really craving some brunch-type food so we decided on this place. I appreciated that our server recommended I did not order an avocado because they were pre-packaged and not very fresh at all. I was told that the potatoes were gluten-free and later got sick that day so I found out myself that they were not. I would love if in the future items could be labeled whether they are gluten-free.”

“A beautiful restaurant, fantastic hostess and server (patient, sense of humor, and genuine), and really good food. The truffle fries, chicken Alfredo and meatloaf stand out. My husband insists I mention that the truffle fries and dip were amazing (they were!). The white fish chowder was tasty but nothing special. Cherry cobbler was the perfect ending to a lovely evening and dinner. We will definitely be back and recommend this place to friends and family who visit Mackinac in the future.”

“The food was really good. My husband ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries. I ordered the Vegan Burger with a side of onion rings which were an additional $2.00. I would love to give them a 4 star. But when the server brought us over a high chair it was completely filthy. I cleaned it off with a napkin and handed it to her and said it was filthy. The napkin was black. I also had to wipe the area of the table where my daughter would be touching and the high chair seat down with disinfectant wipes that I brought from home. The servers were just standing around talking amongst themselves. There were only two tables seated at the time, my motto is if you have time to lean you have time to clean. Also they don’t have a changing table. The server told us to walk down to the public restrooms for one. We ate here on a Friday and the only reason why we took our daughter here was because they were slow.”

“A nice family restaurant for a sit-down dinner or lunch! In fact, we liked the food so much that we ended up eating here 3x over our four day stay! The service is great and the prices are middle of the road for Mackinac Island. The decor is nicely historic, too; good atmosphere for playing tourist. I'd definitely walk the tint bit up the hill and come here vs. other stops. Especially if you want food your kids will like without sacrificing your adult tastes.”

“Great Michigan island vibe. Good selection of food and craft brew. Coasy environment. I tried the 'Final Absolution' 10% brew. I would love to try 'My Chest Hurts' 12% brew. All served in 16oz serve, that's unusual. Maybe a island rule or lack of. The waitress initially looked a bit gruff. Understandable because it was the only place open that day, all other places were closed because of end o season in the island. They were super busy. Later she seems lot better. Her work, however, flawless all throughout. Highly rec”
