“This is a nice cozy place that has a fairly big menu and absolutely wonderful food. The white fish was freshly caught that morning. The decor is covered in ship and seafaring items. The service was good. Although it was not on the main strip, it is not far. I would recommend this place.”

Sposito’s

Address: 1228 US-2, St Ignace, MI 49781, USA

Restaurant Bakery

“Honestly very pleasant! It’s an order window service style, but they have a couple tables inside and some picnic tables outside. We all got the beef pasty with gravy. Very good! The only complaint was the lack of vegetables inside, but as per the large sign inside: original beef pasties only have beef, potatoes, rutabaga, and onions. But it’s a great blend of flavors. And the staff that helped us was so kind.”

FISH TROLLEY

Address: 930 US-2, St Ignace, MI 49781, USA

Restaurant

“Stopped along my way back to the lower peninsula on 2 with a long line for the bridge ahead of me. I was looking for a good and fast fish fry and the Fish Trolley came through! Surprisingly only one other patron there, they had reasonable prices and several fish options for a quick lunch. I opted for the fish tacos which came with 2 and fries. Services and fast and friendly and the food was delicious. The tacos has a sort of pesto/mayo/tarter sauce on them that was excellent and the fish and fries were very crispy and fresh. I will be back the next time I pass through!”

“Mixed feelings on this one. It depends on what you are staying here for, whether it would be a 2 or 4 star, hence the 3. If you are looking for somewhere to just rest your head after your days adventures: 4 stars. If you are looking to rest and recover: 2 stars. I am 8 months pregnant and we have a 1.5 year old, so this was supposed to be our rest up before the 2nd one. Well the walls are so thin, and the room above us had a party Saturday night. Which I get, its a Saturday. So we listened to them party until about 3 am, then they were up at 630 talking on the balcony and it literally sounded like they were in our room. We ended up canceling our Sunday morning plans just so we could sleep for a few hours in quiet. But its not like anything can be done about that, unless you tear down the walls and start over, so we didn't complain. We had dinner at the club once and while it was good, the portions were pretty small for the cost. And our server was on her phone at the hostess time for most of dinner. We watched my husband's drink at the bar for 8 minutes before she finally put her phone down and turned around to deliver it. Now onto the good! Breakfast was awesome. Both the food and the service! Those guys were all over it and we joked that we wished they did dinner too. We had a room with a jacuzzi and it worked super well and was very relaxing. View on the water couldn't be beat, and they had a bonfire on the beach at night. So like I said, it depends why you are looking to stay. If it wouldn't have been for the lack of sleep/thin walls, we likely would stay again. Or if R&R wasn't our key goal. I hope this helps!”

The Driftwood Motel Restaurant & Sports Bar

Address: 590 N State St, St Ignace, MI 49781, USA

Restaurant

“Used to be one of my favorites but since changing ownership the food and kitchen quality has diminished greatly. Our table ordered 4 meals only 1 was liked. The cuban sandwich was good it's always been my go to there. However my hubby ordered a wet burrito and got a chicken burrito instead unknowingly at 1st and wasn't very good. One friend ordered the butter chicken said the only good thing was the rice and it looked very unappealing and another friend ordered cheese sticks never got them subbed a baked potato for onion rings still got rings no potato and steak bites weren't great either. Bummer used to be good food. Our waitress was fine but the kitchen needs lots of work!”

Chamberlin's Ole Forest Inn

Address: N 9450 Manistique Lakes Rd, Curtis, MI 49820, USA

Restaurant

“They did just switch owners so they are trying to get back on track. The food was amazing, dinner and dessert! Breakfast was a little standard but still homestyle. We didn't eat lunch but have heard great things! The room had some hygiene issues, nothing major, but we had a couple hairs stuck in a pillow so it was just uncomfortable. The rest of room you can tell had just been cleaned including the bathroom. The drink I had at the bar was delicious and everyone was super friendly and helpful. We stayed 2 nights and the first night was a little rough. On a Friday night music started playing about 11pm and ended after 12:30. The next night the music started way earlier and ended about 9, much better. If you go in the winter I suggest bringing things to do in the room unless you enjoy snowmobiling/fishing, winter activities, etc. The inn is beautiful and comfy enough to hang out for the day. The UP is always a great place to visit if you love nature and beautiful views, especially in the warmer seasons when there is more to explore! Overall it was a good experience and would love to come back in the future!❤”

White Tail Restaurant & Motel

Address: 4476 U.S. Rte 2, Moran, MI 49760, USA

Restaurant

“Speaking to the diner only. I am old school and do not prefer pasties with carrot. I also prefer a thicker crust. Based upon the glowing reviews we got some to take home. In the meantime, while at the diner we ordered the Pastie Omelet. IT TOTALLY RULED! If you like carrot, these pasties are carrot forward in a way that I didn’t get in the omelet. If you like thin dough, this one has that. Thinnest I think I have had. So I STRONGLY recommend the pastie omelet. I don’t dis the pastie, but factor in my observations about the pasties if you are particular or want to know what to expect. This place is great. Hope they get the motel sold. The staff are amazing kind, competent, and neighborly.”
