Slow service but good food
Great food brought us cholent when we needed it the most
***Review ( focused on the poppers, a.k.a chicken tenders)
$24.23 (total bill for poppers, burger and tea)
My eyes were a little bit bigger than my stomach, and I wanted both the hamburger and those poppers. (For a long time I have been looking for a substitute for Popeyes chicken tenders.)
I would have to say that this $24.23 that I spent was probably worth every penny of it and that is because I have found a good substitute for the Popeyes chicken tenders. And these are probably even better than the Popeye's chicken tenders for at least three reasons:
i. They are cooked fresh each time
ii. The dipping sauces are a lot better, and a lot more exotic. I have all of the sauces.
iii. The poppers could be had in one of two ways. They could be either plain, or they could be tossed directly in the sauce.
There are other good things on the menu, but the reason that I dwell on these poppers so much is because it is good to find finally something that substitutes for what I can no longer have. And I don't think that it is a secret that black people like their chicken right. Even if said black people have Jewish status. (It's no coincidence that Popeye's chicken has bulletproof glass.)
The restaurant was clean, and the service was prompt.
Verdict : Recommended. I will be returning.
