The food is great and the portions are worth the amount paid. The people are fantastic. Our first time there today and you can dine inside. Also, we had lots of food to take home to eat for later. We used to eat at Motor City down the street but we stopped because they gave us, tasted like 3 days old food. Also, Motor City, the owner increased her prices and cut back on the food portions. I'm glad Mookeys opened because I don't have to cook everyday now???? and EXCELLENT food.
Sometimes you just need to round out what you have already prepared. So today with collard greens already prepared at home I ordered 2 smothered pork chops lunch specials with 2 sides in each with cornbread and I’m set!
Tried Mookey's for the first time today at their dine in location on 10 Mile Rd. I must say I was pleasantly surprised! After reading some of the awful reviews I saw, I was not optimistic. The dine in location is fairly small but a very pleasant environment. I ordered the chicken wing dinner, with mac n cheese along with the dressing. The food was very good! It took a little while to receive our order but it was worth it. My husband got the Rib Tip Dinner and he thoroughly enjoyed his meal.
I have to give credit where credit is due. We received outstanding service from our waitress and a woman I'm assuming is the owner or manager. They made us feel welcome and appreciated our business. We will go back in the future. Please check it out for yourself.
We ordered a Meat Loaf dinner with a veggie plate... Our sides were greens, green beans, dressing, cabbage and macaroni and cheese. Everything was good except for the Mac n cheese. It was gooey and it did not look or taste like it was baked. I should have asked but I assumed that all soul food restaurants baked their mac n cheese; I guess I was wrong... lol... I will be back just not for the mac n cheese.
