Jay Birds Rotisserie & Grill

Yesterday was my first visit to Jay Birds. Let me just say I've been waiting for this place to open and it was worth the wait! First impression was excellent. The attendant taking my carryout order "Joy" was AMAZING!! I value awesome service over everything and she provided just that. Second, the food was amazing!! She recommended the Turkey Burger and it was so good, a must try. And the Rotisserie chicken and fries were amazing. And let me say I will make a special trip for that Raspberry Lemonade alone. It has a bar and a nice dining area inside. I wish I would have taking a picture of the food but, we ate everything up!! Can't wait to come back.

I had a great experience from this new restaurant.
My first meal was the chicken thighs, thankfully a side of the ginger sauce was suggested by waitress, she was correct. I decided to return and try something new, I ordered the grilled turkey chops, the portion was a good size. I could have ask for a to go box, but decided to stay & enjoy the company of the staff and patrons that had carry out orders.
Luckily I live within walking distance.
I am planning lunch later this month with family.
Continue to take the comments and make this a better restaurant.

Just ate at Jay birds for the first time. I Understand they are a start up restaurant. But just a few suggestions. A bread basket in the beginning would be nice or a soup/salad option to go with your meal. To be completely honest the chicken has zero flavor. I was very surprised, being a black owned chicken restaurant the lack of seasoning on the meat. The rotisserie chicken couldn’t have been rotisserie it was cold on the inside, they had to have heated it in the microwave. Food portion sizes could have been a little bigger, I left feeling hungry. I don’t know what that shrimp/chicken stir fry was. It wasn’t fresh and again no flavor. I wanted to go back there and season the food myself. Tell the cook to stop being scary with the seasoning, ESPECIALLY with the chicken. Also, I came for the drinks, no bar open. One of the things I can say though is they have excellent customer service. The waitress was very polite and attentive. I believe this can be a really nice restaurant, they just need to fire they cook.

Ate in for a late lunch. Ordered grilled chicken breast with mashed potatoes and green beans. Server was nice and food came out fast. The chicken breast was half a breast but nicely grilled. The mashed potatoes are Redskins with garlic with a light crust. The beans were mixed with mushrooms and red peppers. The food was all tasty just needs to be described better on the menu. The manager/owner? stopped and asked how was everything. Seamed very nice. They continue to use the old dining tables from the Chinese Restaurant that was previously here. Some updates have been done. A bit more remodeling and this could be a very nice place.

Definitely a great addition to the area! I am a very picky eater, but they went out of their way to make my experience a good one! My daughter & I had the Herb Grilled Chicken and it was great! We look forward to our return visits!!
