Decided to give it another shot and edit my review. Bagels are still absolutely fantastic and I'll stand by that. Coffee was hot this time, but I still wasn't really sold on it.
I've been wanting to try Barry Bagels since it first opened, I got to do so last weekend with a family member. We got two bagel sandwiches and two hot teas. 1 Lox and the other turkey pastrami, they were very mediocre, nothing that would excite me to go out of my way. Bagels were smaller than your typical bagel, when comparing. One thing that i was not expecting was the cost, for the 2 bagel sandwiches and 2 hot teas our total was $33.47! I eat out a lot, and I've have had my fare of bagel sandwiches, both fancy, and on the go, but I've never spent that much before on a bagel sandwich. After paying the total I realized I could have went to a brunch spot for the same cost. On the plus side the staff was outstanding and extremely kind, that's the main reason for giving a three star and not any lower. I really wanted to like this place, I love supporting places in my city of Troy, especially when they're down the street from me. However I was disappointed unfortunately.
This spot clearly knows how to please their clients. Always with a very nice demeanor. The food is reasonably priced, always fresh and neat.
Good
Just for opening a real bagel store. The other options were Einstein’s and Elaine’s need I say more.
Tried it out legit, bagels and lox on a toasted poppy seed bagel. Lettuce, tomato, red onion and cappers.
Also the salt bagel was just as good as my goto place Detroit bagel in Southfield. So this is my new goto place and it’s .75 mile from my home. Thank you Jesus.
