MAIZ Mexican Cantina

I'd say I have a wide range of tastes and I like food from many different cultures, but Mexican food has always been one of my favorites. Depot Town is known for good restaurants, so I wasn't surprised when MAIZ lived up to what I'd heard. Fajitas are my favorite, so I had the chicken with corn tortillas. There was a great dry rub on the chicken while the fixings were fresh and flavorful. I also tried their classic margarita. Good mixer flavor but a little weak on the tequila side. My girlfriend had the vegetarian quesadillas. I tried some of it myself. Great flavor. The sauce drizzled on top was especially unique. I'm always surprised when vegetarian options for food that I normally order without dietary restrictions taste just as good, if not better than the "normal" option. Service was fast for a sit down restaurant and our waitress was completely on top of things. There's a nice atmosphere inside with outside seating as an option. Happy hour is Monday through Saturday (half off appetizers and margaritas). On Sunday, kids under 10 eat free. Definitely planning on going there again.

Every time we have been, things haven’t been quite to our liking. I understand a lot of people like this place but it is just not for us. I would not recommend the back patio unless you want to be constantly waiving away flies which obviously comes with sitting outside sometimes. I like the idea of the place but have not been impressed with the food.

The service here is amazing....the food is even better. They have the best Mexican street corn I have ever tasted. Their Margaritas quench thirst like no other. Oh! Don't get me started on the size of the burritos...HUGE. Did I mention how quickly they get your food out to you. It's FAST.

Love this place. Great staff. Clean health food with great flavors and taste. Go to spot when all else fails. Reliable and always delicious.

The food is fresh and tastes amazing. The flavor combinations are unique. Large menu for tons of options and portions are generous. I dislike cilantro but I pour the cilantro aioli on everything! Service is quick but be aware they are almost always full. It’s worth the wait, just plan for it or go in on off peak times!
