Atwater Brewery & Tap House

I'm not a big drinker but would still recommend coming in for the food. Also beer is great too! I've had quite a few Atwater varieties over the years and would sample some more. This is a nice place to stop in when you're in the area. The food was surprisingly good. Had a few different tacos and I am not complaining about any of them. The poutine was awesome too, scraped everything I could of the plate. They're a great looks brand and worth checking out their brewery. It's cool to be able to see into the brewery from inside the restaurant.

Friendly staff and plenty of seating make this brewery / tasting room a great place to visit. They are the largest of the downtown Detroit breweries with a great list of beer styles to sample from. They also sell wine, hard cider spirits and a full food menu. In the summer, they have a great outdoor patio area.

Updating my review: I really like coming to Atwater for a drink after work or on the weekends. They have amazing cider and sometimes other drinks for people who don't like beer, which I really appreciate and wish more breweries would offer. The food is simple but for the most part good, I recommend trying several of their appetizers (nachos, poutine, etc). They just added an outdoor roof seating area, and it's great to hang out there on the weekends and take in the sun - especially here in Michigan where sun is the rarest of all.
