“The owners are very welcoming and cheerful.They go out of their way to make sure that you are satisfied with your food. Excellent pulled pork sandwich with a generous amount of meat on your brioche bun. Delicious fries, again a generous portion even with the small size. Haven't had all the sides yet but the baked beans are delicious 😃Can't say enough about how great the food is! 😍 I Highly recommend this establishment and Can't wait til my next visit!!”

“This is a really cool blast from the past gem in downtown Aitkin, Mn. It's like you stepped back to the 50's! And that's a good thing. Elvis and Del Shannon playing on a jukebox in the corner really set the mood. Their burgers are absolutely amazing and made the way you like. Their split pea and ham soup is to die for! They also have frosty shakes and malts made perfectly to top it all off! When you're in the north country, you have to try Big Tom's!”

“I was there on Friday August 28th and had a very different experience than I had 3 weeks earlier. The service and food quality is going downhill. I called on the 28th and spoke with Peyton to reserve a table for that evening. Peyton was very friendly and helpful. She asked if I wanted a table inside or out, I requested a table inside. Upon arrival we were greeted immediately by a young gentleman who wanted to put us at a table outside. I told him I called and requested a table inside. He said it would be a while as they were full. Looking around the restaurant there were at least 5 tables that were open. I asked about the open tables, he said they were reserved. I pointed out another table, he said it was reserved for a party of 4, we had a party of 3. That table for 4 was finally occupied by a couple, not a party of 4. The walleye cakes were bland and food quality was not great. With an open kitchen and during a pandemic, it was concerning to see not all kitchen staff had a mask and gloves on. This visit was disappointing as I had been there 3 weeks earlier and the food was great. It will be a while before I go back, as there are so many other great places to go in that area.”
