Borderland Lodge

This lodge is near the end of the Gunflint trail. Lots of hiking trails and fishing spots nearby. Our room had a patio overlooking Gunflint Lake. The hospitality was great!

Fantastic home made breakfast, beautiful view. Went for a foraging retreat and the snacks served were really delicious too. All the people that signed up for our retreat were super kind and welcoming too. We had come unprepared to cook, and people made sure we stayed fed. Loved it!

We were just here with some family and our dogs, and it exceeded all expectations. Our cabin was spotless, the kitchen was well-equipped, the view was beautiful, and the included breakfasts were delicious! Staff are always happy to help and easy to find.

We have stayed all over the Gunflint Trail and Borderland Lodge is definitely one of our new favorite places to stay.

If you’re looking for that North woods vibe, this is a great spot. Beautiful lake, nice cabins, our bed was comfortable, fire pits, canoes and kayaks, motor boats and fishing boats for rental. There’s a sauna I haven’t tried out. The night sky is stunning here and we’re hoping for Northern lights tomorrow🤞🏽. We did some beautiful hiking up to magnetic rock and up to some cliffs that overlook the lake. We’re gonna rent a boat and go over to swim in a waterfall. The hosts have been really helpful. Do not miss the breakfast- it’s restaurant quality.

Do you want an amazing experience on the Gunflint Trail? Beautiful grounds, amazing lake access and the cleanest rooms you can imagine? This is your place then. The owners and the staff are so welcoming. They truly want you to enjoy yourself. You are treated to a wonderful breakfast made fresh every morning. The menu has something for everyone. Included in your stay. They make ice cream that you can buy and I highly recommend the Chocolate Brownie. They have an assortment of kayaks and canoes for you to use and you can also rent a boat for fishing. The lake is beautiful. This was the perfect place for a relaxing end to a vacation. Grab a glass of wine and sit on the deck. You won't regret it.
